Technical and Historical Notes

During the First Earth Alliance/ZAFT War, the Alliance creates the GAT-01A1 Dagger, a mass production version of the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. Unlike the Alliance's first mass production suit, the GAT-01 Strike Dagger, the Dagger series is compatible with the Strike Gundam's Striker packs. After the war ends, the Alliance rolls out the GAT-02L2 Dagger L, a new mass production suit with new Striker packs. One such pack is the AQM/E-A4E1 Jet Striker, an atmospheric flight unit that is also compatible with the Dagger. The Jet Striker pack is armed with a variety of missile launchers and rocket pods. The Dagger's original armaments remain the same, except that its hand-carried machine guns have been replaced with the Dagger L's beam carbine. The Dagger remains in service several years after its introduction, and several units participate in the defense of the Alliance's Heavens Base headquarters in Iceland during ZAFT's Operation Ragnarok.
