Technical and Historical Notes
During the First Earth Alliance/ZAFT War, ZAFT creates the UTA/TE-6 GOOhN Underground Mobility Test Type as a variant to the amphibious UMF-4A GooHN. That variant serves a unique tactical purpose: digging through the ground to attack underground facilities. But the design isn't without problems, and the unit is prone to being diverted by the geological characteristics of the ground it's drilling through. That problem is partially addressed after the war with the limited production UTA/TE-6P Geo-GOOhN. Aside from that design change, the Geo-GOOhN is identical to its predecessor. Years after the war, ZAFT uses the Geo-GOOhN in "Operation Fury", an attack on the Orb Union during ZAFT's search for Logos mastermind Lord Djibril.
