Technical and Historical Notes
The YFX-M56 Core Splendor is a light fighter craft that also doubles as the cockpit for the ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam. The Core Splendor, which has its own dedicated launch hangar aboard the battleship Minerva, launches and docks with the Chest Flyer and Leg Flyer via laser lock to form a complete mobile suit. As a light craft, the Core Splendor is armed with two machine guns and two missile launchers. When the Core Splendor transforms into the Impulse Gundam, the missile launchers detach and automatically return to the Minerva.
