Technical
and Historical Notes
|
Despite the theft of the prototype GAT-X102 Duel Gundam, the Earth Alliance creates a prototype production version of it, the GAT-01D Long Dagger. The Long Dagger takes the basic design of the Duel Gundam and incorporates an armored "Fortrestra" mode similar to the "Assault Shroud" created by ZAFT. As a high performance unit, the Long Dagger is tested by "combat Coordinators" such as Eleven Socius. The Alliance later creates the GAT-01D1 Duel Dagger, which is identical to the Long Dagger, aside from the inclusion of a Natural-use operating system. The Duel Dagger is assigned to ace Alliance pilots such as Edward Harrelson and Rena Imelia.
