Technical and Historical Notes

The Federation's Pegasus class revolutionized spaceship design, and the White Base became legendary during the One Year War. Refits were made to the ships of the line during and after the war, and the Gray Phantom was one of several such refits. As with all other ships in the class, the Gray Phantom was equipped with the new Minovsky craft system, which allowed it to fly through the Earth's atmosphere. The Gray Phantom had a carrying capacity of around nine mobile suits. Its mobile suits included three RGM-79SP GM Sniper II units, two RX-77D Guncannon Mass Production Type units and three RGM-79G GM Command units, which were part of the Scarlet Team. When Mikhail Kaminsky of Zeon's Cyclops Team attacked the interior of the neutral Side 6 Libot colony on December 19, UC 0079, the Gray Phantom was dispatched into the colony. Mikhail's MS-18E Kämpfer wiped out the Scarlet Team before it was brought down by Christina MacKenzie's RX-78NT-1 Gundam G-4 "Alex."
