In the last six years of the Hundred Years War, no name was feared more than the Gilgamesh Confederation's elite Red Shoulder Battalion. Nicknamed the "Bloodsucker Battalion," these specially-trained soldiers are infamous for their savagery on the battlefield - no distinction is made between enemy, civilian and even ally. The Red Shoulder Battalion is easily recognized by their heavily armored custom ATM-09-ST Scopedog units, painted with a red shoulder. Following the end of the war, former Red Shoulder Chirico Cuvie hides from the Secret Society and the corrupt Uoodo City police force on planet Melkia. To wage battle against the police, Chirico's friend Vanilla Vartla outfits a Battling arena Scopedog with heavy weapons to create a unit similar to those used by the now-disbanded Red Shoulders. These armaments include a standard heavy machine gun, arm punch, Gatling gun, solid shooter, rocket launcher and SSM launcher. Although the custom unit strikes fear in Chirico's enemies, Vanilla did get one detail wrong - Red Shoulder units are painted red on the right shoulder, not the left.
