Technical and Historical Notes

The Aegis class sea battleships patrol Orb's oceans and help maintain its neutrality by keeping out ships from ZAFT and the Earth Alliance. The Aegis ships are armed with several large guns, as well as various anti-ship and anti-air missile launchers. It also features three landing pads for Heli combat craft as well as mobile suits. Although the Aegis class can hold its own in ship-to-ship combat, it is an easy target for the Alliance's new Gundam models during the attack on Orb in June C.E. 71.
