Technical and Historical Notes
One of the Crossbone Vanguard's flagship mobile suits, the XM-X1
Crossbone Gundam X-1 was in need of major repair after combat with the
Jupiter Empire's Death Gale Team. The melee-focused Gundam was unable
to get through the EMS-VSX1 Quavarze's snake hands and ended up losing
both arms, among other damages. While repairing the Gundam, the
Crossbone Vanguard's engineers decided to give it a slight increase in
its short-range combat abilities. The only major change to the
Crossbone Gundam X1 Kai was the addition of a pair of screw whips, which
mounted miniature drills on their tips. With this new weapon, Kincado
Nau (aka Seabook Arno) was able to fight off the Death Gale Team. However, after being
forced into extended combat with the Earth Federation, Kincado was
attacked by his former ally, Zabine Chareux. Already damaged from
fighting the mass-produced F91 Gundam F91 units, the X-1 Kai was
outmatched by Zabine's XM-X2 (F97) Crossbone Gundam X2 Kai, who apparently
killed Kincado by stabbing the X-1 Kai's cockpit with a beam saber before
kicking it into Earth's atmosphere. Several months later, however, the X-1 Kai
reappeared just in time to help Tobia Arronax's XM-X3 Crossbone Gundam
X3 fight off the Death Gale Team on Earth. After meeting up with his
friends, Kincado returned to the battlefield, using the X-1 Kai to destroy
the Jupitris 9 and deal the final blow to the real Crux Dogatie's
EMA-10 Divinidad. As the Jupiter Conflict came to an end, Kincado
retired to marry Berah Ronah (aka Cecily Fairchild), leaving the X-1 Kai in Tobia's hands. In the time
between the conflict's end and the rise of the new Crossbone Vanguard, the
X-1 Kai would be upgraded again, this time into the infamous "Skull Heart."..
