Technical and Historical Notes
The MAN-05 Gromlin is a heavy mobile armor for decisive battle, intended mainly for anti-ship combat, for which the plan was drafted in the last stages of the war. A leg which serves as a movable thruster is attached to its underside, giving it satisfactory maneuverability for a mobile armor of its size, and it can change into a cruising form for higher mobility. With two movable mega particle cannons, dozens of anti-air beam cannons, and the ability to use its leg and sensor head as wired attack terminals, it has enough firepower to easily sink a warship. In its cruising form, the leg that serves as the Gromlin's main vernier is locked at the rear of the machine, giving it immense thrust. As a result it can demonstrate surprising mobility despite its huge size. As a super-high performance machine combining immense firepower and high mobility, this weapon would surely have been a threat to the Earth Federation Forces had it been completed as planned. However, current technology proves fundamentally incapable of meeting its performance requirements, and the design process goes slowly as the war situation worsens. The One Year War ultimately ends while this difficult design process is still underway, and the machine data and related documents are erased for the sake of secrecy.
