With mobile suits now becoming in integral part of the war on both sides, the Earth Alliance constructs another Archangel class mobile suit carrier, the Dominion. The design of the Dominion is nearly identical to that of the original Archangel, with the exception of an improved radar system. The Dominion enters service in late June C.E. 71, launching from the Alliance's Ptolemaeus lunar base. Serving as captain is former Archangel second officer Natarle Badgiruel, who is charged with hunting down her former captain. Accompanying her (and overriding her authority) is Murata Azrael, the head of the Azrael Conglomerate military contractor. As the leader of the anti-Coordinator group Blue Cosmos, Azrael has his own agenda aboard the ship to wipe out all Coordinators. The Dominion's mobile suit complement includes the mass production mobile suit GAT-01 Strike Dagger, along with with three new prototype Gundams brought aboard by Azrael. In late September, Natarle finally stands up to Azrael at the cost of her own life when the Dominion is destroyed by the Archangel just before the end of the war on September 27.
