Aura Battler Dunbine: The Tale of Neo Byston Well
The first Dunbine OVA, The Tale of Neo Byston Well, was released in 1988. Although the TV series was directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the OVA was directed by Toshifumi Takizawa (Big Wars, Dirty Pair). Mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi returned from the TV series to provide designs for new aura battlers. The story takes place 700 years after the events of the original series and stars Shion Zaba, a young man from the kingdom of Baran-Baran who uses his kingdom's treasure, the aura battler Sirbine, to fight off the evil Black Knight Rabaan and the mysterious Shot Weapon.
