Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz

New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
(U.S. title: Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz)

In early 1997 Bandai released Endless Waltz, an OVA sequel to the hit Gundam Wing TV series. Although director Yasunao Aoki (Inuyasha) took over for Masashi Ikeda, screenwriter Katsuyuki Sumizawa returned to pen this sequel. Also, Hajime Katoki created new mecha designs for the Gundams that retroactively replace the TV designs by Kunio Okawara. In AC 196, one year has passed since the climactic end of the war between OZ and White Fang. Peace has come to the Earth Sphere Unified Nation, and almost all mobile suits have been destroyed. However, the Barton Foundation's Mariemaia Army rises with new mobile suits and threatens to break the fragile peace. The series provides some much-needed back story for the five Gundam pilots and reveals the true face of Operation Meteor. In 1998, Bandai released a movie compilation of the series that adds new footage and rearranges some music. The OVA and movie versions are both available on DVD.
