36: A Knight's Pride! Gundam Rose Stolen
Review by

2001
George meets
with Domon to offer his regards before their fight the next day.
He unleashes a spiral of roses around Domon and says it is the new
Roses Hurricane technique he developed in the Guyana Highlands.
Domon realizes that the roses can move around in many directions
and attack him at once. George goes to Neo France's headquarters
to speak with the King and ignores Maria. The King says he wants
George to not fight against the God Gundam because it will damage
the Gundam Rose before the Battle Royale begins. George says he
wants to fight, but the King forbids it. He says that George has
already qualified for the Battle Royale, so throwing this Fight
won't make a difference. George is furious and storms out of the
room. Maria tries to speak to her father, but he refuses to change
his mind. Domon practices with Allenby to fight off George's new
move. The next day, everyone gathers at Queen's Road East for the
match. Wong tells Master Asia that this time he wants to see the
fight and ordered Michelo not to interrupt. However, the Gundam
Rose is nowhere to be seen. George tries to go out in it, but soldiers
stop him. Raymond tries to help, and the soldiers knock him down.
The King says if George continues he will take away his status as
a Gundam Fighter and charge him with treason. As Domon waits, it
is announced that the Gundam Rose is forfeiting the match. Wong
is dissapointed, and Master Asia wonders what will happen next.
George wanders around the street and bumps into some punks. They
attack him, and he beats them up. He returns to the hangar and thinks
about how cowardly it was to not fight Domon. He decides to steal
the Gundam Rose and breaks out of the hangar.
Maria and
Raymond go to the boat and ask Domon to help them look for George.
He says that won't be necessary and goes outside. He tells George
to come out, and the Gundam Rose rises from the water. George challenges
Domon to a personal fight, and Maria tells him to return the Gundam
Rose. George says that in the past he's fought for her, his family,
and his country, but this time he's fighting for himself. He says
he will wait for Domon at dawn on a hill and leaves. Schwarz asks
Domon what he will do, now that George has given up everything and
shown his pure heart. Wong receives a phone call that the Gundam
Rose has been stolen, and he tells Master Asia. At dawn, Domon meets
George on the hill, and their fight begins. The King rushes to the
scene with mobile suits, but Allenby disables them and blocks the
path. The King runs up the hill and tells George to stop. George
refuses and performs the Roses Hurricane to finish the match. Domon
is surrounded by a cyclone of energy and is unable to escape. He
starts destroying the bits with his beam saber, and George says
he can't escape the cyclone of energy. He kneels and starts spinning
rapidly to perform the new God Slash Typhoon and destroy all the
bits. The energy from the move knocks the Gundam Rose down. George
hasn't given up yet and attacks Domon again. Domon damages the Gundam
Rose and knocks it down again. George refuses to surrender and goes
into his own Hyper Mode. Domon performs the Bakunetsu God Finger
and beats him. George is ready to face punishment, but the King
says that won't happen because he showed a true fighter's spirit.
George tells Domon he will now help him destroy the Devil Gundam.
Schwarz watches, and so do Master Asia and Wong from nearby. Master
Asia says the fights between the Shuffle Alliance have not had the
negative effects they were hoping for. Wong decides that Domon's
next opponent will be Sai Saici. He thinks that match will be very
interesting, but Master Asia believes this fight was the best.
Another
standard Gundam Fight episode. This set of episodes is very predictable.
Domon has to fight all his friends from the Shuffle Alliance, and
in their desire to beat him, they all develop their own Hyper Modes.
After he beats them, they decide to help him fight the Devil Gundam
again. I imagine that once he's fought everyone, they will all use
their Hyper Modes like a super sentai team and fight the Devil Gundam.
This is most definitely the case, so the next few episodes will
probably be just as predictable. Also, it seems like Domon magically
develops a new move every episode to defeat the new move his opponent
makes. I should also note something strange in Wong's apartment.
Exactly WHY does Wong have a big stuffed teddy bear on his bed?
Does he like teddy bears, or is it something else entirely? The
world will never know...

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
