SD Gundam Force
Whereas previous entries in the SD Gundam franchise were parodies of the earlier Universal Century series, SD Gundam Force takes a different approach. Directed by Yuuichi Abe (Gundam Evolve), this series is aimed at children and tells the story of the bungling Dark Axis, which has come from another dimension to invade the peaceful land of Neotopia. However, Neotopia is guarded by a boy named Shute and the Super Dimensional Guard's Gundam Force. SD Gundam Force is the first Gundam series to use 3D cel-shaded animation, as seen in many recent video games. In another first, the first season aired in America before Japan. While the entire series had a complete airing in Japan, the second season didn't air in the U.S. Years later, Bandai released the second season on DVD in the U.S.
