Part 1: SD Gundam Crazy Race

Contestants line up for the first annual SD Race. The contestants include Musha Gundam and Musha Zeta's Open Bull Car, Knight Gundam's Lacroan Coupe, Degwin and Revil's G3, Bright's Guntank Tank, Amuro and Char's Children's Special, Z'Gok and Gogg's Crazy Angler, Gals Seven, the Three Zaku Brothers' Feudal Salon Bus, Nise Gundam's Nise White Base and Yazan Gable and Gemon Gemon's 00 Machine. The race begins with the G3 machine falling apart after everyone else takes off. Yazan tells his dog Gemon Gemon they will use every evil method to win, so they deploy a fake traffic light that everyone else stops for. They then drop makabishi ninja stars, but Onmitsu cleans them up. They drop larger ones next, and Nise Gundam is crushed while trying to pick them up. Yazan stops at a train crossing, and when he takes off he's run over by a train. The next stop is Lake Luna II. The Crazy Angler jumps into the lake, and Amuro and Char pull the plug which flushes all the water. On Mount Gryps, Yazan and Gemon Gemon jump ahead and blow themselves up several times before leaving land mines. The other racers avoid the land mines, and Nise Gundam throws them at Yazan while trying to dispose of them. Yazan tries to jump ahead of them and is crushed by a mountain. In the Axis Valley, Bright tries to slice up the Lacroan Coupe and ends up cutting his Guntank Tank in half. Everyone else drives up Jaburo Hill, except for Gals Seven who take the elevator up and Nise Gundam which takes it down. Yazan tries to beat everyone in the frozen area and ends up falling into the ice while driving over a frozen lake. After a pit stop, everyone heads for the finish line. Yazan blows up columns to block everyone, but the columns fall like dominoes and hit him. He then destroys a bridge, but the columns fall on him again and create a bridge. In the final stretch, the Nise Gundam crosses a fake finish line. Yazan uses a turbo boost and ends up blasting himself into space.

Part 2: Space Travel Dream Malon Company

Qubeley wonders why people are going to the Dream of Roman travel company next door instead of her company. Her assistant Acguy tells her it's because they have a better building and look like a real business. Qubeley tells Acguy to steal some customers, so he goes outside and talks Nu Gundam into taking a tour with them. At the spaceport, Qubeley and Acguy meet up with the tour group, which includes Nu Gundam, Sazabi, Gouf, Alpha Azieru and an old Zaku. Nu Gundam is shocked that instead of using a nice ship they have to use a rundown Gabthley. Once everyone is inside, Qubeley begins the launch sequence. While breaking through the atmosphere, the space outside of the shuttle becomes strange. Nu Gundam asks what that is, and Acguy lies that it is part of the atmosphere. The shuttle enters a dimensional warp and comes out in the Universal Century's One Year War of UC 0079. The shuttle appears next to a space colony, which Acguy claims is the famous Big Colony. A battle breaks out near them, and they are shot at by Zeon Zaku IIs and bumped into by a Federation GM Command Space Type. As the shuttle is knocked around, Alpha Azieru begins to cramp the cockpit due to puberty growth. The shuttle approaches Earth, and Rick Doms fire at it with bazookas. The shuttle is damaged and begins to freefall, but several Gelgoog Jagers chase it. Everyone is burned during atmospheric entry, and the shuttle lands in the middle of the invasion of Jaburo. It crashes in the water and is blown up by a Z'Gok. When everyone reaches land, the real Gundam appears and crushes Alpha Azieru. A real Gouf chases everyone with its heat rod, and a Guncannon MP Type blows them into the sky and into a launch bay where Salamis class ships are taking off. Gouf falls into a cannon barrel and blows up the ship. Everyone is caught in another dimensional warp, and this time they find themselves in the past with dinosaur robots.

Commentary

These two episodes present some interesting skits. The first part is an obvious spoof of the old Hanna-Barbera cartoon Wacky Races. It's quite funny that Yazan is the Dirk Dastardly type villain while Gemon becomes a dog and stands in for Muttley. Their constant failures while trying to cheat prove to be very amusing. In the second episode, some SDs get caught up in a dimensional rift and cross over into the real Gundam continuity. Because this was released in 1990, we get to see a lot of suits from the original series and Gundam 0080 in action. The real Gundam makes a nice cameo, and we also see a Salamis launch sequence, which is never actually shown in the regular series. Good stuff overall.
