Flay
asks Miriallia why she stopped her when she too tried to kill Dearka.
She says that the Coordinators should
all die. Flay says they are both the same, but Miriallia says they
aren't. Pal and another officer walk in and ask what's going on.
Dearka is then taken away at gunpoint to the brig. Murrue and Natarle
walk down a corridor, and Natarle stops because she wants to talk
about the incident with Dearka and other things. She says that if
they want to survive, they have to strictly follow military regulations.
Murrue says that a captain's uniform doesn't suit her well and that
sometimes she can't follow regulations. She tells Natarle that someday
she'll be a good captain and leaves. Natarle says to herself that
is why Murrue is too soft. Dearka sits in the brig and thinks about
what happened, never realizing he'd guess right about Miriallia's boyfriend getting killed. Later, Murrue,
Natarle and Mu report to the inquisition to meet with Sutherland.
He congratulates Murrue on an impressive battle record and begins
the proceedings. He asks Murrue to report on everything that has
happened as far back as Heliopolis and the ZAFT attack. In the PLANT,
Kira looks out at the water and thinks of when he used to be on
Heliopolis. He thinks about his times with Tolle and his death at
Athrun's hands. Lacus walks up to him and tells him he always seems
so sad. He says he is and thinks about all the people he's killed
so far in the war and how many others he's seen die. Lacus tries
to reassure him and tells him that he's probably saved many people
because of the fact that he fought. To get his mind off it, she
takes him away so they can eat lunch.
In
an Alaskan town, an incognito Rau receives a disk from someone
in a street market. At the Alaska Base, Sutherland asks Murrue about
Kira, and she says that she suspected he was a Coordinator when
he was able to modify the Strike Gundam's OS in just a few minutes.
She says that a normal student couldn't have possibly done what
Kira did. Sutherland asks what she thought of him, and she says
she was amazed. Sutherland continues looking over the report and
says that holding Kira and his friends was probably the right decision.
He gets to the part about Mu and Rau fighting, and he questions
Kira using the Strike Gundam's 'Agni' cannon, which damaged Rau's
CGUE and blew a hole in the side of Heliopolis. He says that attack
led to ZAFT's sense of urgency in a counterattack, and Mu objects
and says that's not what happened. Murrue asks if they think it
was wrong for her to counterattack, and Sutherland says it was just
unfortunate they got involved with a Coordinator. He says that the
Strike Gundam would have eventually performed as well without a
Coordinator piloting it. He says that even a child is still a Coordinator
and that they're all responsible for the current crisis. Sutherland
questions all their actions, from the destruction of Artemis to
the destruction of the 8th Fleet. Murrue says they were following
Halberton's orders, and Sutherland says the will of one man is not
the will of the Alliance. Kuzzey and Sai walk through the halls
to deliver food to Flay and Miriallia. Kuzzey can't believe what
Miriallia did, and Sai says it's Dearka's fault because he said
something. They arrive at Miriallia's quarters and find that she's
gone. Miriallia goes to the brig where Dearka is and tries to run
away before he asks her to wait. He asks what happened to her boyfriend,
and she explains that he was piloting the Sky Grasper during their
last attack. Dearka tells her that he wasn't the one who killed Tolle.
Elsewhere, Sutherland concludes the inquisition and announces that
Mu, Natarle and Flay will be transferred. Natarle asks why Flay
is being transferred, and he says that as an Allster her words will
move the public. At the Carpentaria Base, Athrun leaves his room
and finds Yzak waiting for him. On the PLANT, Kira and Lacus watch
the sunset and she says she wishes it could stay the same forever.
The
last episode ended with a bit of a cliffhanger following Miriallia
and Flay's failed attempts to kill Dearka. Flay seems to be unstable
as ever and is quite eager to try to kill Dearka, even though he
wasn't responsible for either Tolle or her father's deaths. Natarle
confronts Murrue about the way she's running the ship, but Murrue
admits she doesn't seem suited to be a captain. Maybe so, but she
certainly does a better job than Natarle would. The inquisition
shows that the Alliance wants to use Kira as a scapegoat for what
happened at Heliopolis. Also, Sutherland seems to slip and lets
his Blue Cosmos ideals sneak into his arguments. Mu, Natarle and
Flay get transferred, but where are they going? Also, what's on
that disk that Rau got in that town? Is it intelligence for the
upcoming attack on the Alaska Base? We'll see soon enough.
