Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Special Edition
Following the conclusion of Gundam SEED on Japanese TV in September 2003, director Mitsuo Fukuda and staff went to work on 'Special Edition' compilation specials. These specials compile the story of the TV series in the same way as the compilation movies for the original series, Zeta Gundam and Turn A Gundam. Like those other compilations, the Special Edition episodes feature some new scenes and tweaks to previously animated scenes. The first two episodes aired on Japanese TV in March 2004, followed by two more in July, with the last two being released on DVD only in October. In in an MAHQ announcement in early 2005, Bandai Entertainment announced their license for the Special Edition, to be marketed as "Gundam SEED Movies." The Special Edition is available on DVD, as well as Sony's UMD format for the PSP.
