The plane carrying Heero, Trowa, and Noin arrives at the OZ base in Antarctica. Noin suspects that the OZ search party will be calling in reinforcements and coming after them eventually. Zechs meets the boys and introduces himself. Inside the base, both he and Heero ask each other if they are using their real names. Zechs shows Heero the perfectly rebuilt Wing Gundam, and Noin says that Heero should thank him. Heero responds that he'll thank Zechs by killing him. Zechs and Heero agree to fight in the morning. Noin wonders why Zechs wants to fight this way when he should be protecting Relena. At the Lake Victoria base, Relena asks about Zechs and the Wing Gundam and doesn't get any answers. Pagen gets a call and says that OZ is heading for Antarctica. While Heero adjusts the Wing Gundam, he decides that Zechs' charity is clouding his mind, and he switches to the Heavyarms. Late that night, Trowa begins removing the left arm of Heavyarms because the weight is too much for Heero. The mechanics ask Zechs if he wants to restore the left arm of the Tallgeese, but he says no because the left arm was damaged in the last battle at Siberia.

The next morning, Heero and Zechs begin fighting on the ice. Zechs attacks from overhead, and Heero destroys glaciers to create an ice cloud and cover his heat. When he runs out of ammo, he ejects the gatling gun and finds a beam saber hidden there. Nearby, Relena's plane approaches the base and is ordered to turn around by a group of OZ Aries. Pagen flies away, and the Aries chase them. Trowa destroys them using the Wing Gundam. As Zechs is about to make the fatal blow with his beam saber, Relena's plane flies right through them. She tells Heero about the letter that says he has to live. She tells Zechs to stop fighting, but he keeps attacking Heero. Relena tells Heero to kill Zechs, and Noin tells her that she shouldn't wish for the death of her brother. Noin says she will follow Zechs anywhere and confesses her love for him. The OZ carriers arrive, and Zechs attacks them so that everyone else can get away. Trowa transforms the Wing Gundam into bird mode and picks up Heavyarms. Relena is glad the battle is over.

Man what a pointless episode. Everyone in the episode talks about how it's a useless battle, and it certainly is. There's also a lot of nonsense philosophy about war and weakness. Noin finally confesses her love for Zechs, but that's something that's been obvious since her first appearance. Relena finds out that Zechs is her brother Milliardo Peacecraft, but she doesn't seem so emotional. What doesn't add up at the end is that she's glad the battle between him and Heero is over. She seems to have forgotten that the battle ended because Zechs went off to fight a hundred other people. She doesn't seem to be too worried about that.
