Episode 23: Duo, God of Death Once Again

On Earth, Sally and her resistance friends find the Wing Gundam sitting on the bottom of the ocean. OZ has located it as well and sends several Cancers to retrieve it. However, Sally's forces possess superior Pisces suits and destroy the Cancers and the OZ submarine. In space, Zechs is unsuccessful in his negotiations with a colony. The leaders believe that the only way to avoid war is to arm themselves and embrace OZ. At the lunar base, the mad scientists haul away the remains the the Shenlong Gundam that Tubarov took apart to examine. He has no interest in the Gundams because he's supervising the construction of the new Virgo mobile dolls. The mad scientists take the Gundam parts to a secret location where they are building upgraded versions of the Deathscythe and Shenlong. Nearby, an OZ shuttle transports Heero and Wufei to a prison on the lunar base. Trowa tries to figure out OZ's next move, but his investigation turns up nothing. In another colony, Duo listens to OZ propaganda and writes it off as nonsense. A young OZ officer named Hilde Schbeiker tries to convince him that OZ is helping the colonies. She also tells him that he should join OZ.

Later, he shows up with other OZ recruits and steals a Leo. Hilde follows him and attacks him. She says that she's fighting for the colonies, and he tries to convince her that he has the same goal. An OZ shuttle shoots at Duo's Leo and captures him. Hilde discovers he's a Gundam pilot and interrogates him. He says he wanted to fight the Alliance and bring peace to the colonies, but now he's not wanted. She leaves and thinks about what he said when an engine suddenly explodes. Duo steals the damaged Leo again and heads for the Moon. He is attacked by Taurus mobile dolls and unable to fight them. Hilde saves him and says that she's going to fight for the colonies. Duo enters the lunar base and accidentally finds the Gundams. The mad scientists tell him that the new Gundams will be ready in a month, but he has to act fast so that they aren't discovered. Master O beats up Duo and hands him over to OZ. Duo is thrown into a cell with Heero and Wufei. He tells Wufei that their Gundams are being rebuilt. Trowa escorts Zechs to a colony and reports to Lady Une. She tells Trowa that she intends to guide the future to the best direction for Treize.

Duo may go on and on about being the God of Death, but he manages to only get caught by OZ. Yet another inconsistency about this series is the Leo Destruction Factor. Whenever a Gundam pilot fights a Leo, it takes only one or two blasts to destroy it. Whenever a main character gets into a Leo, it becomes invincible. The Leo that Duo steals gets shot about thirty times by the shuttle and mobile dolls, but it stays intact. Just more proof that there's no real physics in this series.
