Episode 45: Signs of the Final Battle

Peacemillion hides inside a ruined colony while repairs are made to the ship and the Gundams. Quatre removes the Zero System from Sandrock because he believes he can lead without it. Duo warns Heero that the system is still dangerous, and Heero actually agrees with him. Sally and Noin examine the recent actions of the World Nation. Treize has sent nearly all of Earth's military forces to the abandoned resource satellite MO-II. He plans to use the base as his frontline. On Earth, he is informed of the progress and congratulates his men. On Libra, Zechs leaves Quinze in charge so that he can get some rest. Quinze informs him that he has sent an assault force to destroy Peacemillion. Hilde sneaks onto Libra to gather information on it. Dorothy gives Relena a tour of the mobile doll production facilities and shows her the newly reconstructed Vayeate and Mercurius. They have been rebuilt as mobile dolls with OZ's combat data from Heero and Trowa. After Dorothy leaves, Hilde introduces herself to Relena.

On Peacemillion, repairs are completed. Duo and Trowa play chess until the battle alert begins. All five pilots head out to battle to fight the mobile dolls. Hilde asks Relena if she wants to escape too, but Relena says she still has things to do. Hilde escapes in a Taurus Cruiser. Dorothy suggests to Quinze that he send the Vayeate and Mercurius after her. The two mobile dolls quickly catch up to Hilde and disable her Taurus. She sends a distress call to Duo, and he rushes to her aid. As the Vayeate is about to make a fatal shot, Duo shields Hilde. He begins fighting them and notices that they fight too well for mobile dolls. Hilde tells him that's because they have Gundam pilot data. Despite this, Duo manages to destroy the Vayeate and then the Mercurius. He asks Hilde why she risked her life, and she replies because she just wanted to. He takes her back to Peacemillion to recover. On the ship, Duo tells Heero that Relena is on Libra. Heero thinks about her as he stares at Wing Zero.

All together this wasn't a very interesting episode. Zechs decides to take a nap, so he's only in this episode for about a minute. Same with Treize (minus the nap). Hilde reappears after being gone for awhile. I guess she was inspired by Duo and decided to join White Fang as a spy. It seems with this episode we have the Taurus Invincibility Factor. It's been proven that the Vayeate has tremendous combat power against Tauruses, but it seems to take too long to fight her Taurus. Just enough time for Duo to rescue her. Quinze clashes with Dorothy, and he ends up coming out the fool. Maybe that stupid life preserver he wears cuts off oxygen from his head.

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 stars
