Summary

By firing its cannon, the Argama punches a hole in Green Noa 1 that Char, Apolly and Roberto use to infiltrate the colony. They plan to steal the Gundam Mk II. Char has a Newtype reaction and feels Kamille's heavy breathing. At first he wonders if it's Amuro or Lalah, but he concludes it's somebody else. Emma Sheen scolds Jerid for his reckless flying, and Bright appears and orders them to evacuate. He says that the AEUG is attacking, and Jerid decides to fight them with another Mk II unit. Char and his men are attacked by a squad of GM IIs and engage them. Elsewhere, Kamille runs through the forest towards the Titans base. At Green Noa 1, Colonel Bask Om meets with Lt. Franklin Bidan (Kamille's father) and Jamaican Daninghan about the attack. The GM II pilots claim they're being attacked by the Red Comet, but Bask doesn't believe it at all. He decides they will move to Green Oasis 1 to monitor the battle. Char and his soldiers are attacked by more GM IIs, and he is frustrated about not having found the Mk II yet. Kacricon attacks them with another Mk II unit. The battle enters a civilian area, and Fa drives to her house to pick up her mother and evacuate. She drives to Kamille's house to get him, but he's not there. Kamille infiltrates the Titans base, and guards let him through because they know his father. He runs right past Bright and Emma and jumps into the Mk II. They tell him to get out, but he doesn't listen.

Bright and Emma run away as Kamille raises the Mk II out of the ruined building. Bright feels that he is the second coming of Amuro Ray to be able to pilot the suit. Kacricon lands nearby and is chased by Char and his men. Kacricon thinks that Jerid is in the other Mk II and asks him for backup. Kamille finds Matosh and begins tormenting him with the Mk II. Char doesn't know who he is, but he thinks he can trust him. Kamille attacks the other Mk II and slams it against the building. He tells the Kacricon to get out and threatens to crush him. He helps Char get away with both of the Mk II units. Elsewhere, Fa searches Kamille's house and is nearly killed when Roberto's Rick Dias crashes into it while fighting a GM II. Char and Kamille fly by, and Kamille spots Fa. He decides to go with Char out into space. At the Titans base, Bright and Emma go to Bask's office. Bright yells at Bask for testing the Mk II's in a civilian colony, and Bask responds by punching Bright. Bright says that turning colonies into bases will only cause more groups like the AEUG to be created, and Kacricon punches him. Bright is outraged that officers below his rank are attacking him, but they think his Federation Forces rank means nothing as they beat him and Bask leaves. Nearby, Kamille and Char go into space, and they are attacked by Titans in Hizack mobile suits. The Argama fires its mega particle gun and destroys all the Hizacks except for one, piloted by Jerid. Kamille asks Char when they can relax, and Char says in half an hour. As they escape, Kamille thinks about how beautiful space is.

Commentary

Another impressive episode. You can start to see that the Titans are the main antagonistic force of this series. They are almost as bad as the Zeon, and their attitudes are quite similar to that of 20th century McCarthyism, where almost anything was justified to hunt down Communists. Here we also introduced to Bask Om, a high-ranking Titan. He certainly believes that the ends justifies the means, and he also doesn't mind beating down a lowly officer like Bright. It is good to see Bright make an appearance, but he sure does get beaten down by Kacricon and the other Titans. It's also good to see Char in action, especially when dying GM pilots proclaim that he is the Red Comet. Bask doesn't believe that stuff, and he has no idea how wrong he is.
