Episode 21: A Sign of Zeta

Summary

The Titans begin Operation Apollo, a move to take control of the lunar city Von Braun and cut off AEUG support. Jamitov is surprised that his secret shuttle has been located by Scirocco's Dogosse Giar. Scirocco has a hologram of himself displayed in space as the ship passes by. Jamitov remembers how Scirocco pledged to serve him by signing a contract with his own blood. Elsewhere, Kamille is lectured by Torres for getting lost in space. On the Argama, Bright and Emma wonder where the Titans are moving their fleet to after leaving Gryps. Bright believes they're heading to the Moon, specifically Granada. Kamille reports that the ship he searched was clean. He tells Torres that he'd better learn when to shut up, and then he hits him. The two start fighting and get Saegusa involved too. Bright stops the fight by slapping Kamille and ordering him and the others to the brig. As Kamille leaves, Emma says he must have fallen in love on Earth to be so arrogant. Near the Dogosse Giar, Jerid and a woman named Mouar Pharaoh test new transforming Gabthley suits provided by Scirocco. As they examine their abilities, Scirocco attacks them with the Messala as a test. Aboard the ship, Mouar asks Scirocco what his intentions are. He explains to her and Jerid that he simply wishes to free people from the oppression of gravity. He predicts that the Titans will destroy Earth, and that a woman will lead the world after that. In the brig, Torres asks Kamille if he got any holotapes back in Hong Kong. Jerid leaves to practice in the Gabthley and spots the Argama.

The battle alert is sounded, and Kamille and Torres are let out of the brig. Emma launches in the Rick Dias, followed by several Nemos and Kamille in the Mk II. Kamille senses something and tells Emma to be careful because it's no ordinary suit. They are shot at by a battleship cannon and see that it belongs to Jerid's Gabthley. Jerid begins his attack and focuses on Emma. He blows off the Rick Dias' head and arm, forcing Emma to eject in the cockpit pod. Kamille gives it to a Nemo and returns to fight Jerid. Mouar shows up on Scirocco's orders to back up Jerid. Jerid attacks Kamille and blows away his beam rifle and one of his beam sabers. He grapples Kamille and begins to crush the Mk II. Mouar tells him to just use the cannon, but he says he wants to kill Kamille slowly. Kamille manages to use the beam saber to cut off one of the Gabthley's arms. Both suits are suddenly hit by a cannon, and the Gabthley's leg is blown off. Kamille is forced to eject from the Mk II, and he wonders if he will die in space and see his parents. As he floats in space, he is contacted by Fa, who is in the transport ship that shot the Gabthley and Mk II. The new Zeta Gundam piloted by Apolly appears and fights off Jerid and Mouar. Jerid is forced to eject from his Gabthley before it explodes and escapes with Mouar. Kamille gets into the transport ship with Fa to recover the Mk II. Later, Scirocco tells Mouar that only he can satisfy her dreams because Jerid is a kid. Aboard the Argama, Apolly gets out of a meeting and tells Kamille he will give him a lecture later about the Zeta Gundam. Fa comes out of the meeting too, and Kamille kisses her. He tells her that becoming a pilot is a mistake.

Commentary

Well, this is the first episode I've seen in quite a while. The Earth arc that started with the failed attack on Jaburo is now over. Kamille has returned to space, and it looks like only enemies are waiting for him. I don't know how Jerid became involved with Scirocco, but they make a dangerous combination. Jerid hasn't matured much though, since he wasted a perfectly good opportunity to kill Kamille. And since he has Mouar as his new mentor, I predict that Kamille will kill her pretty soon. He seems to be acting strangely because of Four's death. I don't know what the heck got into him to attack Torres like that, but he's got problems. Maybe he's tired of being the AEUG Slapping Boy.
