Summary

In Von Braun City, Char and Wong meet Anaheim Chairman Melanie Hue Carbine at a Chinese restaurant. They are worried about the movements of Axis, and Char says he doesn't know what their intentions are. Char is instructed to meet with Axis and form an alliance with them. On the Alexandria, Yazan launches in his Gaplant along with a force of 20 Marasais and Hizacks. Jerid is mad that he and Mouar have been excluded from the battle, and Gady says he has other plans for them. He explains that Yazan is bait and that they will wait in the ruins of a colony to ambush the Argama. Jerid asks why they have to wait there, and Gady explains that is where he would go if he were the Argama's captain. In the locker room, Jerid tells Mouar that he has to defeat Kamille if he ever wishes to improve. She kisses him and says she will always be at his side. He wonders why she is acting oddly as they launch in their Gabthleys. On the Argama, Shinta and Qum bother Fa on the mobile suit deck. Kamille promises to play with them, and Bright scolds them for goofing off. Jerid and Mouar arrive at the ruined colony and hide behind some asteroids. He tells her to be careful and not worry about him. Yazan's forces locate the Argama and the Radish and commence the attack. Emma launches in the Mk II from the Radish, followed by Katz in a Nemo. Kamille, Reccoa, Fa and Apolly launch in their suits and head for the battle. As the battle begins, the Alexandria and several other Titans ships attack from below. Kamille sees the fighting and decides to turn back, and he is followed by Fa. As expected, the Argama and Radish head for the ruined colony to hide. When the ships approach the ruined colony, Jerid and Mouar emerge from hiding and begin their attack. The Argama is heavily damaged, and fires break out all over the ship.

As the attack continues, the Radish tries to provide covering fire for the Argama. Kamille arrives on the scene and is immediately attacked by Jerid. Jerid believes luck is on his side today, and he grapples the Zeta Gundam. Kamille breaks away with his beam saber, and Jerid tries to slam the Zeta Gundam into the colony. Kamille breaks away from him and hides inside the colony. Fa senses danger from where the kids are and returns to the Argama. She fights off a fire in the habitation block and abandons her Nemo when she sees Haro floating in space. Kamille senses that the ship is in danger and realizes that staying inside the colony won't do any good. He senses danger from where Fa is, and exploding door injures her after she finds the kids. Kamille emerges from the colony and is attacked by Jerid again. Mouar tries to attack Kamille, but he knocks her aside and escapes in Waverider mode. Jerid chases after him, and Kamille destroys some of Yazan's forces. Kamille re-engages Jerid, and they both fire their beam rifles at each other. The beams hit each other and cancel out, temporarily blinding them both. Kamille recovers first and fires at Jerid. Mouar jumps in front of Jerid and tells him that she will always protect him. Kamille's beam hits Mouar's Gabthley and destroys it. Jerid goes berserk, and Kamille blows the legs off the Gabthley. Jerid finds himself floating in a strange place and wonders if he is dead. Mouar tells him that he can't let Kamille win and that he must lead the world to the right path. Jerid wakes up and begins a fierce attack on the Argama. After heavily damaging the ship, he is forced to retreat when his Gabthley is disabled. Gady sends out a flare, and Yazan's forces retreat. After the battle, Emma asks Bright not to scold Fa for what she did. Kamille thinks about how sad it is to see people die.

Commentary

I figured this would happen sooner or later. Way back in the beginning of the series, Jerid killed Kamille's mother. Then Kamille killed Lila and Kacricon, which sealed the feud between them. Now Kamille has also killed Mouar, which drives Jerid over the edge. Even though Jerid is a villain, you sorta feel sympathetic for him here. Despite his pride it seems that he genuinely loved Mouar, and her death is too much for him to handle. In his berserker rage he manages to do more damage to the Argama in this episode than he has so far in the entire series. As for the battle in this episode, it's one of the best so far. Jerid and Kamille's fight here seemed much more involved than their usual engagements, and that's the case before Mouar dies in the battle. Kamille is winning 3-1 now, so it looks like it's time for Jerid to kill someone Kamille cares for.
