As Gryps
2 locks on to Granada, Melanie sends
a delegate to the Argama. Kamille watches as Katz plays
pool with Apolly and is interrupted by a jumping Haro. Katz tells
Kamille that he's supposed to go to the bridge. They go to the
bridge, and Bright shows Kamille a letter from Melanie. The letter
states that AEUG must open negotiations with Haman Karn's Axis
Zeon to form an alliance against the Titans. Also, they must prevent
Axis from allying itself with the Titans. Katz objects because
the Zeon are enemies, but no one listens to him. Later, Kamille
and Bright run into Haro, who tells them Emma is angry. They see
Emma arguing with Katz about the mission. Katz objects to negotiating
with Axis and refuses to go to the Gwadan. Fa also objects,
and Bright orders them to be locked up. Kamille asks Emma to let
him go to the Gwadan. She asks him if he objects to the
war, and he says orders are orders. She wonders if he has become
more enlightened. Kamille launches in the Zeta Gundam and carries
a white flag as he flies to the Gwadan. Haman allows him
to land on the ship, and armed soldiers escort Kamille to her.
He shows her Melanie's letter, and she decides to go to the Argama
in person to negotiate. An aide wonders if that is the right
decision, and she says she wants to have a look at the ship. She
wonders what Char's reaction will be when he sees her. Kamille
launches and is followed by an escort squad of Gaza-C suits and
Haman's personal suit, the Qubeley. Haman menacingly flies by
the Argama's bridge and lands on deck. Char is amazed that
the Qubeley is finished and that Axis is producing things so quickly.
Haman is taken to a meeting room where Bright, Char, Kamille and
others are waiting. Char asks Haman to destroy Gryps 2, and she
says it's not like him to beg. He takes off his glasses and begs
her to destroy Gryps 2. She agrees to do so in exchange for being
given control of Side 3. Bright orders mobile suits to be launched
to deceive the enemy. On the Dogosse Gier, Bask wonders why
the Argama and Radish are moving together. Kamille
goes to the brig and gives normal suits to Fa, Katz, Shinta and
Qum. He says he is leaving the door unlocked in case there is
an emergency and they have to escape. Emma tells him to hurry
and get to his suit.
Katz thinks
about things and says he can't leave the brig until Bright forgives
him. Apolly launches in the Rick Dias, followed by Emma in the
Mk II and Kamille in the Zeta Gundam. Bright and Torres monitor
the Gwadan and see that it is moving towards Gryps 2. Bright
tells Char that he worries what will happen if Haman sells them
out during the battle. Char wants to join the battle in the Hyaku
Shiki, but Bright tells Char he wants him to stay on the ship
today. Emma tells Kamille and the Rick Dias squad to spread around
as the Hizack squads attack. As the Gwadan approaches
Gryps 2, Haman sends a message to Bask saying that she will support
him from the rear. He is glad to hear that but wonders what her
real purpose is. He orders the Alexandria to approach the
Gwadan and inspect it. Haman works at a computer console
and tells her men to target Gryps 2's nuclear pulse engines only.
Nearby, Emma and Kamille fight off the attacking Hizacks and
Marasais. A Barzam attacks, and Kamille pulls out his beam saber
to defend himself. Fa senses Kamille in the battle and leaves
the bridge. Bright wants to send out more mobile suits, but there
aren't enough pilots. Torres and Char want to go out, but Fa and
Katz come to the bridge. Fa begs Bright to let her fight, and
he rescinds the punishment and allows her and Katz to go out.
Kamille wrestles with a Hizack and is attacked by another Barzam.
Fa shoots the Hizack, and everyone moves out to attack more enemies.
The Gwadan opens its gunports, and Bright wonders why Haman
isn't doing anything. The Gwadan fires at Gryps 2 and destroys
several of its engines. An enraged Bask orders the Alexandria
to pursue. An officer tells him to calm down, and Bask punches
him. The battle ends, and everyone returns to the ship. Char goes
to the Gwadan and bows in front of Mineva. She says she
is glad that he is helping her revive the Zabis. Haman assures
her that AEUG is working for them. As the Gwadan departs,
Bright has Torres collect as much data as he can on the ship.
He thinks that someday they may end up fighting Haman and Axis.
As we
move closer to the conclusion of the series, things are starting
to shake up. The AEUG is desperate now that the Titans have Gryps
2, and they try their hand again with Haman and Axis. Of course,
they don't know that long ago Scirocco pledged his service to
Axis. We get to see the first appearance here of Haman's Qubeley,
which will later cause the Argama much trouble in Gundam
ZZ. Axis is basically what's left of the fascist Zabis, so
it's odd that AEUG would ally themselves with Haman. However,
desperate times create strange bedfellows. I I actually thought
that Haman was going to betray the AEUG for a moment until she
actually fired at Gryps 2. She didn't damage it too badly, and
it seems that she wants to capture it and use it herself. The
question now is if she intends to use Gryps 2 against AEUG, the
Titans...or both.
