Summary

In South America, Reccoa observes air transports leaving from Jaburo. She is captured by several soldiers, and they are attacked by former Guncannon pilot Kai Shiden. He threatens them and makes them run off. Kai explains to Reccoa that he is a freelance journalist and operates everywhere. At Granada, Jamaican receives a few new officers as well as new Marasai mobile suits from Anaheim Electronics. Jamaican doesn't trust the people at Granada or Anaheim because he believes they're AEUG supporters. He orders the Bosnia and Alexandria to prepare to move out. On the Argama, Kamille fixes Haro, but it addresses him as Amuro. Emma slaps him for being late to a meeting and makes him come with her. One the street they meet with Wong Lee and Char. Wong begins to beat Kamille for wasting time with Haro and missing the meeting. Kamille tries to explain that Haro might have info about the White Base, and Wong says it's useless and keeps hitting him. Kamille fights back, but he ends up knocked out. When he wakes up, Char explains that Wong is one of the founders of the AEUG, and he was maintaining discipline. Char and Emma tell Kamille to prepare for battle, and he says he doesn't want to go. Emma slaps him and says he has responsibilities. Char launches in his new Hyaku-Shiki mobile suit, followed by Apolly and Roberto in their Rick Dias suits. Kacricon spots them and decides to attack. Jamaican is informed that Jerid is waiting for a chance to redeem himself. Kamille is convinced that he must fight and launches out of Amman with the Mk II.

Kamille catches up with Char, Apolly and Roberto. They secretly enter Granada, and Char explains to Kamille that their mission is to capture a Titans ship and mobile suits. Jamaican meets with an Anaheim representative and receives the new Marasai mobile suits. The attack on Granada begins, and Kamille starts capturing mobile suits. He and Char leave their suits behind and penetrate the base. Kamille is ambushed by soldiers and is shot at. Elsewhere, Kacricon's Hizack squad launches a surprise attack on Amman. Kamille feels that something is wrong and tries to tell Char during the gun battle. The Argama begins to leave port, and Emma launches in a Rick Dias to guard it. Kacricon spots her and attacks, and Kamille feels her calling for help. He tells Char something is wrong with Emma, and Char gives him permission to return to Amman. Emma and Kacricon continue to fight, and he cuts off her left arm. He is about to make a final attack when Kamille appears and blasts off one of his hands. Kacricon turns his attention to Kamille and attacks him. Kamille dodges his attacks and leads the Hizacks through the nearby colony wreckage. He manages to fend off Kacricon's attacks, and the battle ends. Kamille returns to where the Rick Dias is, and Emma enters the Mk II's cockpit. She asks Kamille why he disobeyed orders, and he explains he had Char's permission. He tells her that he felt her calling out for help, and she apologizes. Back on Earth, Kai and Reccoa find an entrance to Jaburo and prepare to infiltrate the base.

Commentary

This episode is a bit slower than the previous since there's not quite as much going on, but that's not a bad thing. Kamille sure seems to take a lot of abuse. As if it's not enough that Emma is always slapping him, now he has Wong Lee beating him up too. Kamille's the type to take things in and lash out later, so you know he'll do that. In episode 6, we had a pointless cameo by Amuro. Now, there's one by Kai Shiden. First of all, what is he doing walking around the South American jungle in a business suit?! That's just odd. And second, how did he just happen to be in the right place at the right time to save Reccoa? Despite that, it was good to see him again, and I wonder what other strange cameos are in store for the future.
