Glemy supervises
as the Blue Team repairs the Gelgoog. They don't have enough parts
to fix it, and Glemy wonders when the Gundam Team will return. Elo
tells him that African Liberation Front founder Gadeb Jasin once
said that war will bring a lot of tears and blood, but that it will
be worth it die for freedom. The Blue Team is very devoted to their
freedom on Earth, as Glemy is to ruling over space. On the Argama,
Bright orders Beecha and Mondo to go check up on Judau and get the
Neo Core Fighter back from Roux. Bright doesn't really care if they
bring her back as long as they get the Neo Core Fighter. Beecha
launches in the Core Top, followed by Mondo in the Core Base. In
another part of the desert, Elle and Iino watch the area for any
sign of Roux. Iino tells Elle that Judau has suppressed his feelings
since Leina's death and that Ple has come to understand him since
joining them. Judau and Ple show up, and Ple says they must go into
Ghardaia if they are to find Roux. After they leave, Roux happens
to find the Mk II but sees that everyone is gone. In Ghardaia, Glemy
sits down for a drink with Juneh and says they are comrades because
they were both treated badly by Roux. Juneh laughs, and Glemy grabs
him and smacks him. As Judau, Iino, Elle and Ple walk through the
city, Ple senses Glemy's presence. They search the crowd for Glemy
and see nothing. An announcement begins, and all the Muslims in
the city turn towards Mecca to pray. With the Muslims praying on
the ground, Judau and the others are able to spot Glemy standing
by himself. Out of nowhere, the Mindra appears overhead under
the command of August. Gadeb's Zaku Tankers surround the city, and
Dowadges and Desert Zakus begin attacking Ghardaia.
Gadeb tells
his men to destroy everything belonging to those who have forgotten
their ancestry and worship white people. August wants them to destroy
everything so that Neo Zeon can create a base in the underground
city. Judau and the others run away to escape the destruction and
are attacked by a Desert Zaku. Elo shows up and asks why they are
killing civilians. The Desert Zaku pilot answers that they are fighting
for independence and gets sliced apart by the Gelgoog's beam naginata.
Glemy finds Gadeb destroying things and demands to be taken to August.
August is shocked to hear that Glemy is still alive and orders the
Mindra to land. Judau and the others escape from the city
and finds that Roux has buried all the Gundams in the sand. Judau
takes off in the Zeta Gundam to return to the city. The Gelgoog
pilot continues to attack Desert Zakus and destroys many of them.
Gadeb delivers Glemy to August, and Glemy tells August that he's
shameless. August plays things diplomatically to kiss up to Glemy.
Glemy tells Gadeb that Dido is dead and that he wants to fulfill
Dido's dying wish of defeating the Gundams. Glemy orders August
to launch the Dreissen squad. Gadeb confronts Elo and asks him why
he is obstructing him. Elo asks how they can destroy the white man's
city and at the same time become the pawns of white people. Gadeb
tells Elo that he doesn't understand long term strategy. Glemy shows
up in a Dreissen and tells them to put aside their struggle and
help him fulfill Dido's wish. Glemy throws a tri-blade at Elle,
and Gadeb attacks Judau with his heat hawk. Elo grabs Elle, and
Iino and Ple fly by and take the brunt of Glemy's attack against
Elle. Their Dodai Kai crashes and they escape before it explodes.
Beecha and Mondo show up and and dock with Roux to form Double Zeta.
Roux slices up Elo's Gelgoog and blows off one of the Dreissen's
arms. Gadeb attacks and is blown away by the double beam rifle.
Glemy and the Mindra retreat.
The second
episode of the two-parter picks up on the search for Roux and features
more of the African Liberation Front. The events of this episode
show that Gadeb and his faction were certainly more radical than
Dido's Blue Team. It certainly is hypocritical that Gadeb slaughters
the people of Ghardaia for being involved with white people, yet
he himself is working with Neo Zeon (which has no Muslims in it
the last time I checked). Roux ends up working with the Gundam Team
again, and I hope this means that she will finally return to the
ship. With the African Liberation Front gone now, we'll have to
see where the Argama heads next.
