 Macross Dynamite 7 In 1992, Studio Nue released Macross II to mark the 10th anniversary of the original series. When the 15th anniversary rolled around in 1997, Tetsuro Amino returned to direct this 4 episode OVA series. Set one year after the Protodeviiln War in 2047, it begins with the further adventures of Basara Nekki, who has left the Macross 7 fleet and is wandering the galaxy. When Basara arrives at the planet Zola, he encounters giant space whales and an Ahab-like poacher named Graham Hoyly who is obsessed with hunting them down. But there's more going on than what Basara initially sees, as a group of smugglers are also in the mix. Like the rest of the Macross 7 productions, it isn't available in the U.S. |
