 Elemental Lord Cybuster In 1999, Elemental Lord Cybuster, an anime based on Banpresto’s original mecha and characters from the Super Robot Wars game line, first aired. The series was directed by Hidehito Ueda (Transformers: Armada) with character designs by Takeshi Itou (Tactical Roar) and mecha designs by Yasuhiro Moriki (Hades Project Zeorymer, Gravion, Martian Successor Nadesico). The anime only uses a few concepts, names and mechs from Super Robot Wars. It’s the year 2040 and Japan is in ruins after several disasters in the past. Rubble is everywhere and the air is barely breathable. Ken Ando joins DC, an organization dedicated to restoring the environment. After encountering the mysterious mech known as Cybuster, Ken and his friends begin to discover that DC isn’t what it seems. The series is available on DVD in the U.S. from Geneon Entertainment.
