Episode 31: Reformation

Blade is in the middle of holding off a spidercrab, while Noal in his suit is helping a woman named Rachel from a boulder that’s holding her down. Noal frees her, and takes her to safety while Blade kills the last of the spidercrabs. Rachel thanks them for the help, and Noal accepts the thanks. Later, Rachel is with the Space Knights on Green Earth, and Aki bandages Rachel’s wounds. She asks her if there is a town nearby, but Rachel claims it was destroyed. While Noal complains about the vehicle’s fuel, he hits a bump, causing Rebin to run in and he gets into an argument with Milly about food. Rachel says they can stay at her farm for a bit, and the Space Knights agree. At the farm, a man in a large hat eats a tomato, and then a younger boy asks him if he could eat one. He gives it to the boy, then the Green Earth pulls up. The boy sees Rachel coming out, and says her sister is home. He eats the tomato, then the man who was with him, notices the Space Knights come out, and he drops his tomato in shock. The boy greets Rachel, and she introduces the Space Knights to her brother Rick. Noal asks her if she lives at the farm alone with her little brother and Rachel points out to the man in the field. The man walks up to Space Knights, and takes off his hat. He says it’s been a while, then D-Boy realizes its Balzak. Noal nearly flips on him for seeing him, but D-Boy holds him back. Balzak and Rick leave to finish chores and prepare dinner, leaving Rachel and the Space Knights to talk. During dinner, Rick asks D-Boy how he knows Balzak, but D-Boy only says he was one of the best Space Knights (He’s obviously lying to Rick, just to not make him sad). Rick gets excited, then makes a mess of his food. While Rachel cleans up Rick’s mess, Aki asks Balzak what he’s been doing the past few months, and Noal insists on what he’s been doing. Balzak says he has just been minding his own business, then leaves the table, claiming he needs to get up early tomorrow. It’s nighttime, and Rachel is washing the dishes outside, when Balzak joins her. Rachel asks him if he really was a Space Knight, and he jokes about how he was more of a ‘undercover Space Knight’. He then thanks her for the help she gave him, and remembers what happened to himself before he met her. He’s in his damaged Sol Tekkaman armor, finally on Earth and wandering around, then falls down a hill. He looks up, and contemplates what he had done in his life, then passes out, just as he hears Rick and Rachel. He then wakes up in a room, bandaged and in bed. He walks to a door, then realizes he’s at a farm, and stares at the field. To him it’s so beautiful, he starts crying. His flashback ends, and he thanks her again for giving him a second chance, and promises to protect her and Rick.

Later that night, while the Space Knights are asleep, Balzak is looking over his damaged suit, and thinks about Marlo. He promises that he’ll pay Omega back one day, but also says that he’s a changed man. D-Boy suddenly walks up to him, and Balzak decides to leave. But D-Boy mentions that he knows where Omega is on the moon, but says they need a crystal from one of his Tekkaman to get there. Balzak suddenly flips out and grabs D-Boy, asking him if he’s telling the truth. He then realizes what he’s doing, then apologizes and leaves. Off in the distance by a tree, Rachel watches everything, and starts crying. The next day comes, and the Space Knights are packing up. Rachel sees Balzak by a tree and wants to talk to him, but he walks off, claiming he has chores to do. Off a long distance away, Axe and a group of spidercrabs are heading towards them. D-Boy picks them up, and warns everyone. D-Boy heads out with Pegas to become Tekkaman-Blade, while Noal heads out in his suit. Noal handles the spidercrabs, while Axe and Blade duke it out. Balzak watches the fight, but is so distracted that he doesn’t notice two spidercrabs heading towards him. Rachel runs to him and pushes him aside, but gets hurt in the process while the spidercrabs head for the main fight. Balzak helps Rachel up, and takes her to Green Earth. She tells him about the conversation she overheard during the previous night, and tells him to help the Space Knights. Balzak asks her if she wishes it, and she says it she thought she wants him to do the right thing. Balzak thanks her, and runs off to get his suit. Blade gets knocked to the ground, and Axe holds him in place. Noal tries to shoot Axe, but finds out he’s out of ammo. Just when a spidercrab attacks him, another shot from another Sol Tekkaman suit destroys it. Balzak comes around to help, and shoots at Axe. Axe is distracted, and Blade kicks him off and manages to hurt him. Axe suddenly runs off, leaving the Space Knights alone. Later that day, the Space Knights are done packing, and Balzak joins them. They thank him for his help, but he says he’ll be joining them. Noal refuses, but D-Boy welcomes him aboard. Balzak says they’ll need his help, as he has extra supplies they could use, and Noal finally agrees. Balzak heads over to Rachel and Rick, and hands Rick his hat, telling him to watch over things while he’s gone. He promises Rachel that he’ll come back, and he finally leaves with the Space Knights. Noal asks D-Boy if they can trust Balzak, and D-Boy says they can, since he wants Omega as much as anyone else does. Rachel and Rick watch the Green Earth leave, and Rachel prays that Balzak will return someday.

Finally, we’re back to the main story. It’s interesting to see Balzak after such a long time. When we last saw him, he was a snobby person with an attitude and would do anything for power. Now when you see him, he’s more likable. He even cares for Rachel and Rick, which makes him that much more likable yet. It was actually good to see him in action again, and now he’s hooked up with the Space Knights. I’m just surprised how D-Boy welcomed Balzak in, since he hated him a lot as well. But I guess D-Boy’s view on him changed. Hopefully the things can get easier with Balzak around, but somehow I doubt it, as they still need to get Axe.
