Episode 37: Reflection
Review by Joel Jankiewicz
January 22, 2005
The Space Knights Alaska Base is damaged, but the attack has long gone and people are going about their normal routines. Freeman and Milly are in the command room, with the rest of the crew doing repair work, and Honda looks over the now completed Blue Earth. However, D-Boy is in the medical room, sleeping in a bed, and Aki is watching him from a monitor. She shuts it off, and sits on her bed, looking out the window. She wonders about all that has happened, and wonders why things that people want or love, are taken away. From there, we get a recap of important events. From D-Boy becoming a Space Knight, his conflict of becoming Tekkaman-Blade again after his crystal is nearly destroyed. Other events include his near madness when the Earth Military holds him prisoner, accepting responsibility to become Tekkaman-Blade again, to his conflicts with his brother and running into Miyuki. We also see his regrouping with the Space Knights, D-Boy opening up more to Aki, and the time when he finds out he’s incomplete and could die from becoming Tekkaman-Blade. Aki tries to think it over, but believes she’ll always be there for D-Boy, no matter what.
I know people don’t like recap episodes that much, but so far this has only been the second episode so far that is a recap episode, so I guess that is one good thing to be thankful for. Other than it being a recap, not a lot happens. We do see things after the Radam attack is over, and things are going as planned. But we don’t know still about D-Boy’s condition completely, but we also do see more of Aki wanting to be with him. Other than that, nothing else happens here.
