Summary

Honda, Rebin and Noal are having a game of cards. Rebin can't seem to stop talking about D-Boy and how she (He)'s attracted to him (She also uses lip stick to spell the word "Love" inside a heart shape), but Noal claims he still doesn't trust him. Honda says there are a lot of things they don't know about him, and while he's playing, D-Boy's watching the game from down the hall. Honda and Rebin put down their hands and it looks like Honda has the winning hand, but Noal stops him from taking the wins and shows he has a joker in his hand, so Noal wins. Noal says he once again doesn't trust D-Boy, but Rebin tells him to be quiet because he's down the hall. Rebin asks D-Boy if he wants to join, but Noal says not to bother. Sure enough, D-Boy stares at them, then turns around and walks away. Honda says he feels sorry for him, but Noal says it's time to play another card game. Sometime later on an air transport, Aki and D-Boy are aboard the ship heading to a large Spore tree area. She then tells D-Boy about how the whole invasion started, and it then goes into a memory sequence of half still images and movement images about the invasion. It then shows Earth Military fighting back, but Aki says that the Spidercrabs destroyed everything in their path, leaving behind the vegetation (Spore Trees) after the battles, and soon the world was covered with them. Aki says that even though the trees seem harmless, she still can't help be feel worried. She says that they have to find out everything they can about the plants. Aki looks at D-Boy and sees he is day dreaming. Aki asks him if he was even listening and D-Boy asks what she wants him to do about it. Aki asks him if he wants to be a loner for the rest of his life or if he wants to become a Space Knight, a team member. D-Boy says he could never be a member, and says he's the only one who could fight Radam. Later, Aki and D-Boy are outside in a forest of the Spore Trees with masks on. Aki say's she'll get samples from the larger trees, and D-Boy tells her to go ahead as he'll cover her back. While Aki is gathering samples, D-Boy then starts to ponder if he could be a member of the Space Knights. When Aki moves on to another tree, she sees something on the ground and screams. D-Boy runs up and asks what's wrong, and Aki is on her knees and turns her head, and small tears are just coming out of her eyes. D-Boy is confused but then sees a doll buried under dust and dirt. Aki says that there were families here, and how now they were all gone. Aki picks up the doll and begins to walk back to the ship, and then D-Boy asks if there is anything he can do. Aki hands him the doll, and asks him to become a Space Knight. Later back at the Space Knights HQ, Honda throws his hat on the ground and says he wants another game, as he and Rebin lost to Noal...again. Rebin says she (He) has had enough, but Honda says he wants another game. Noal asks what he has left to bet and Honda pulls out an antique watch (Looks around our time period), and says he'll bet his watch on everything Noal has won, and Noal agrees. Meanwhile, D-Boy and Aki are going over the samples they collected, and Aki asks D-Boy on how he lost his memory but knows how to operate a computer. D-Boy says he just does and Aki asks if he would like to try some methods for him to gain his memories back. D-Boy says it could work, then the alarm goes off. Everyone gets up from what they were done, and then D-Boy says how their break time is over.

Later, Freeman, Noal, Aki and D-Boy are in the briefing room. Freeman claims that they've picked up a UFO of some kind, being escorted by Spidercrabs. He tells the Space Knights to go investigate, and D-Boy says they'll get to it. Aki gives a quick glance of shock at D-Boy, but then smiles. At the launch pad, Honda watches Blue-Earth from a safe distance, and tells Noal to be careful with his watch, and that he'll win it back next time. Noal gloats about his winning and Blue-Earth launches. Blue-Earth heads into space, with Milly wishing them luck. In space, Blue-Earth just reaches passed the atmosphere, and then D-Boy and the others get a view of a large substance out in space. A spidercrab attacks Blue-Earth and rocks it, then D-Boy starts to head to the back of the ship. Noal jokes by saying that it's another day at the office, but D-Boy says he is Earth's only hope. D-Boy leaves, and Noal tells Aki to have an alternate plan just in case D-Boy isn't as good as he seems. Aki says she doesn’t believe that, but Noal isn't sure. D-Boy launches out of Blue-Earth and becomes Tekkaman-Blade, and starts fighting the Spidercrabs (Air type), and then notices that they spit some kind of residue at him. He destroys a couple then one of them gets a shot at his back engines. The goo blocks his engines and Blade tells Noal and Aki to get away. He lands on Blue-Earth but he latches onto a spidercrab. Aki says they can't leave Blade out there, but Noal says they'll give Blade a minute. Milly, Honda, and Freeman watch the battle from a camera, and Honda says Blade's got a lot of guts. Aki still doesn't know what to do, and Noal says he'll only give him a minute to come, while he's munching on a bar again. Blade's forehead gem starts glowing in pulses, and the bleeps sound like a warning system. Blade says he's feeling weaker, and can't explain why. From another camera, Colbert too, is watching the battle. Blade manages to use his spear to force the spidercrab he latched onto to move towards the object, and fires his voltekkers. The blast rips the spidercrab to pieces, and his blast destroys the strange object. Aki notices Blade is not moving and says that they have to pick him up, but Noal says that they have to leave or they'll get swarmed. Aki moves to the back of the ship, and Noal decides to move Blue-Earth up to Blade. Aki opens the Earth lock from another room, and Blade thanks for the help. He says he thinks he over did it, then his armor flashes and he yells in pain. The airlock closes and Aki tells Noal to book it. Noal turns Blue-Earth back to Earth in full retreat, while Aki checks up on Blade. She opens the airlock, and finds D-Boy lying on the floor, but clothed this time. Noal says that the Spidercrabs have followed them, and Aki comes into the cockpit saying D-Boy needs a doctor. Noal says to worry about it later, but Aki says he's cold hearted that way. The ship rocks, as Spidercrabs start to swarm it. They shoot their goo like material again, and Blue-Earth's engines stop working. Blue-Earth goes into a half nosedive, while everyone braces themselves. With Freeman and the others watching from a camera, Blue-Earth hits the sand hard, with everyone falling over. Aki holds onto D-Boy, but they both fall back against a wall. Aki cushions D-Boy, but she hits the wall with the back of her head. Blue-Earth comes to a stop at a wall, with the Spidercrabs finally gone. Noal wakes up, and goes to check on Aki. He notices she doesn't answer him when he calls her name, and lifts her head up to look at her. He sees blood running from her forehead, and notices the blood is coming from higher on the head, a wound covered by her hair. Later at the Space Knight HQ in the hospital room, D-Boy takes a hit from Noal and knocks over a chair. Noal walks up to D-Boy and holds him by his uniform collar, and tells D-Boy that he ended up hurting Aki, but D-Boy gives a confused face and doesn't understand. Noal punches D-Boy in the stomach and D-Boy falls over to a console. Noal lifts D-Boy by his head and lets him look at Aki through the viewing window, and asks if he's proud of what he did. Noal says that D-Boy isn't as good a fighter as he seems, and how he just had to prove something. Noal says that's the reason why Aki is in the hospital with a cracked skull, and congratulates D-Boy in the not so friendly way. D-Boy gives a sad look in his eyes, as he just stares at Aki, as she lies unconscious in a bed, her forehead bandaged.

Commentary

A bit of plot development it seems, mixed with emotional and drama development. Just when things were looking up, D-Boy finally screws up, and hard. Noal resorting to punching D-Boy shows how angry he is. Now what is D-Boy gonna do I wonder? D-Boy hasn’t shown much sadness, and this is the first time he’s really shown it for someone that he considers a friend. We’ll have to wait and see.
