Return of the Living SEED by Chris 4:20 P.M. EST
There's a whole round of Gundam SEED updates today. First, there's a review (with screenshots) for episode 1 of the Special Edition compilations. Also, the SEED mecha section has received some updates, including a new profile for the VTOL Fighter with lineart courtesy of GuyverC. There's also a few new profiles in the SEED-MSV section, and you can expect lineart for them soon. Finally, in a non-SEED update, Jameson Leaser has sent in lineart for Macross Zero's OCTOS.

Old Man Amuro by Chris 11:58 P.M. EST
I have no real update of any substance to make, but I figured I'd point this out since MAHQ wasn't around 5 years ago. On April 7, 1979, the first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam aired on Japanese TV. I won't bother going into what Gundam did here, since everyone knows that story. It's certainly been quite a ride for Gundam in the last quarter century, but I'd say it's fared better than some other long-running franchises (two in particular come to mind, both with the word Star in them). So here's to 25 successful years, and hopefully more success in the foreseeable future.

Fun with Pranks by Chris 12:20 P.M. EST
Did everyone enjoy our April Fool's prank yesterday? We've been wanting to have some fun with the constant confusion with mahq.com, so yesterday was finally our chance. I've got a few notes to mention regarding the prank. First and foremost, most of the credit for the prank needs to go to Dale. He did the HTML work and came up with a lot of the bogus information, including the MRI profile. I came up with a few headlines, but it was nearly all his work. Second, the prank didn't run as deep as some people have thought. We didn't create an entire site. Aside from the fake news page and the MRI profile, all the links led to the real mahq.com. If that fooled people too, I guess we did our job.

Now it's time for some other words. Aside from it being April Fool's Day yesterday, it was also MAHQ's 4th anniversary. Every year that this comes around, I'm still surprised at what the tiny (and vastly different) FAHQ has grown into. I'm amazed that after four years we're still able to be here when so many other great sites haven't survived. I'll take this time to throw out some thoughts on the last year and what's coming up in the future. Looking back, 2003 was a slower year for MAHQ, but there were a lot of changes as well. Some may ask, 'what happened to the MAHQ 2.0 that Dale promised exactly one year ago?'. Simply put, life happens and gets in the way. MAHQ 2.0 is far from dead though. At first, we had envisioned a grand design for a cutting edge site. However, as time goes by we have reconsidered that and changed our design philosophy. Now, MAHQ 2.0 will mainly be a functional site with a clean new look. It will be vastly different from our current design, which after 4 years is starting to show its age. I can't say exactly when MAHQ 2.0 will be ready, because it is a massive undertaking to redo this entire site from the ground up. It will be worth the wait though.

Before I start rambling too much, I may as well lay down my mission plan of things I'd like to do between now and the next anniversary. I place emphasis on 'like' because I may not get around to all of these. So let's get down to it:

-New sections with reviews for Armored Trooper VOTOMS, Genesis Climber Mospeada, Gasaraki and Mobile Police Patlabor.
-Further expansion of the Models section (keep sending those reviews in, because I'll be catching up with my backlog soon).
