Changing things up today, there's a few new items in the SRW anime section. First, Peter sent in new screenshots for episodes 1-14 of Divine Wars, as well as for the OVA. Second, he wraps up his reviews of Divine Wars with coverage of episodes 21-26.

This update kicks off with a review for episode 4 of Macross Frontier. Up next is a set of re-reviews for episodes 22-24 of Macross 7. Finally, there's some updates to the Code Geass mecha section, including a new profile for the Panzer Hummel with lineart courtesy of asterphage, as well as a new profile for the Lancelot Air Cavalry, courtesy of AmuroNT1.

New Macross by Chris 11:45 P.M. EST
No, this update isn't a review for the next episode of Macross Frontier (yet). Instead, it's a review for the last bit of Macross 7 that I had never reviewed up to now, the short video clips Macross 7 P*L*U*S.

Basara Strikes Again by Chris 11:53 P.M. EST
Yeah, I know it's surprising to see a Macross update that isn't about Frontier. This time, I've got new re-reviews (and screenshots) for episodes 13-15 of Macross 7. More will be on the way soon.

Another Show killer by Chris 9:58 P.M. EST
For your listening pleasure, you can check out episode 12 of Gundamn!, which as always is available in regular and unplugged versions. In this ginormous episode, we devote two segments to Code Geass, as well as one to the directors of Gundam. You can find more show notes on the blog or leave comments in the Mecha Talk thread.
In related items, I'm sure people have read the news that Bandai Entertainment has licensed Gundam 00 (totally expected), or the more surprising news that they've snatched up Gurren-Lagann, which was originally licensed by ADV Films last year. I don't know what that says about ADV's financial status or about the languishing release of Keroro Gunso, but it's certainly good to hear that Gurren-Lagann is out of limbo.

The Black Rebellion by Chris 7:27 P.M. EST
Today, I kick off my coverage of Code Geass R2 with reviews for episodes 1-2. Like Macross Frontier, this will be another show that I'll be reviewing throughout the season.

Go, Aquarion! by Chris 9:15 P.M. EST
Today's update marks the return of the Otaku Obsession column with a review for FUNimation's Aquarion Complete Series Part One. This will also mark a change in the column. From this point on, it's going to be a more of a regular feature on the Gundamn! blog, and it'll allow all of us to review stuff that may or may not be reviewed on MAHQ or discussed on the podcast. I'll soon be archiving all the old Otaku Obsession entries on the blog, but for now they'll still be on MAHQ.

Hard Chase by Chris 9:54 P.M. EST
For today's update, our regular coverage of Macross Frontier begins with my review for episode 2.

Close Encounters of the Second Kind by Chris 1:20 P.M. EST
It's not much, but for today's update I've edited my review of Macross Frontier episode 1 to add a new paragraph outlining the differences between the Deculture Edition and the broadcast version. This will likely only be a temporary change, as I eventually will edit the review once again when the final Yakku Deculture Edition is released. Speaking of Macross, if you haven't been there in awhile, Egan Loo's excellent Macross Compendium has recently been redesigned as a Wiki. If you have anything you can contribute, I'd definitely suggest doing so (of course, if you have anything for MAHQ, that's good too).

Chirico's Anniversary by Chris 11:52 P.M. EST
Although I didn't note it before, last Tuesday was the 25th anniversary of the premiere of VOTOMS in Japan. So to mark that occasion, I've got reviews for episodes 5-6 of Pailsen Files.

Setsuna's Anniversary by Chris 5:17 P.M. EST
It was 29 years ago today that the original Mobile Suit Gundam premiered on Japanese TV, so to mark the occasion I've got a review for episode 25 of Gundam 00. That ends the reviews for now, and they'll of course return when season 2 starts in October.

MAHQ: The Elementary School Years by Chris 5:33 P.M. EST
Another year has come and gone, and today MAHQ celebrates its eighth anniversary. Each year, I'm surprised that the site has lasted so long, and this year is no different. When Dale and I originally opened FAHQ back in 2000, we never expected it to become what it has today. Usually we have some large update to mark the anniversary, but not this year. There is a special Mailbag, which is probably the biggest I've ever done for sheer number of questions.
We had a busy year in 2007, with the debut of several new sections, the premiere of Gundam 00 and the addition of the Gundamn! podcast to our roster of content. So far, 2008 looks to be even busier, with continued coverage of Gundam 00, VOTOMS and the premieres of Code Geass R2 and Macross Frontier. There are also some new sections in production, so I'll take this opportunity to repeat some prior announcements and add some new stuff.
-Gasaraki is on the way, but I've passed this series along to Brian, who is picking up the torch and reviewing it himself.
-Gunbuster/Diebuster will also be appearing soon, with reviews by Peter.
-Full Metal Panic, which is long overdue for inclusion on MAHQ, will finally be getting its own section. Reviews will be handled by a new staff member,
Arshad Abdul-Al.
As always, the continued prosperity of MAHQ is made possible by fans and contributors. I'd like to take the time to thank some of our frequent contributors for what they've provided, including Mark Simmons, Mark064, Neo-Era, AmuroNT1, Deacon Blues, Kuruni, bilbros, asterphage, Homeless, Bazookafied, MrMarch, ninjascience, Nightwing03, Shori, DeltasTaii and Red Zaku. I'm sure I'm missing some people, but the omission is accidental and certainly not by intention. I'd also like to thank our forum moderation staff for diligently watching over Mecha Talk everyday, even if sometimes they seem to go a bit overboard. I also want to thank Paul and Adam for bringing Gundamn! into the MAHQ family and doing their best work every time we record the show.
Last but not least, I'd like to thank all the visitors who come to this site every single day to keep up with whatever we're doing. It is that support that has kept MAHQ alive for eight years and will continue to do so for the future.
