Loads of Stuff by Chris 4:35 P.M. EST There's a lot of stuff in today's update, but first some words on Yasumicon and the mecha panel (a full report will come later). The convention went pretty well, although it was definitely crowded. The mecha panel was also a success, and Dale dealt with some big technical issues to provide a good multimedia experience. The prize giveaway also ran smoothly, thanks to the prizes donated by Bandai Entertainment.
And now, to the updates! First up is my review for X ASTRAY volume 2, bringing an end to that series. Next is a preliminary listing for the mobile suits found in the upcoming PS3 game Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight. Also, there's new lineart for the Guardshell courtesy of Sir Red XIV, as well as new lineart for the Kerberos BuCUE Hound and GINN Insurgent Type, courtesy of asterphage, along with lineart for the RGZ Custom by Kuruni and DeltasTail. Finally, there's another installment in everyone's favorite Mailbag.

Sail On, Captain Bright by Chris 9:40 A.M. EST By now, many have probably read on Gunota about the death of Japanese voice actor Hirotaka Suzuoki on August 6. Suzuoki was 56 and died of lung cancer. Although most anime fans probably associate Suzuoki with Gundam's Bright Noa, his other credits include:
Lynn Kaifun in Macross
Dragon Shiryu in Saint Seiya
Yellow Belmont in Mospeada
Olson Vern in Orguss
Tenshinhan in Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z
Tatewaki Kuno in Ranma 1/2
Looking at his credits, it seems that Suzuoki's last role was reprising his most famous - Bright Noa in the Zeta Gundam movies. Suzuoki was a talented voice actor, and he will certainly be missed.

Yasumicon 2006 by Chris 12:10 A.M. EST Yes, it's that time of year again. The fourth annual Yasumicon is afoot, and once again Dale and I will be running the mecha panel. This year, the panel's theme is "What Makes Mecha Anime Appealing?" In addition to the discussion, there will be a special anime screening and prize giveaways courtesy of Bandai Entertainment. This year, Yasumicon runs the 12-13th and is moving to a new venue, Miccosukee Resort and Gaming. The mecha panel will be held on Sunday the 13th at 1:30 P.M. If you live in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, you should come on down and check it out.
