Do You Remember? by Chris 3:30 P.M. EST For today's update, instead of the usual DESTINY review I have a newly re-written review for the movie Macross: Do You Remember Love? along with new screenshots. This review now covers the extended Perfect Edition, whereas the original review covered the standard release.
On another note, I'd like to make a clarification about the upcoming Robot Roundtable discussion. I am looking for questions that are conducive to a discussion, such as "What is your favorite series and why?" or "Compare the themes of DESTINY to the original series." Technical questions about a mobile suit's reactor power and similar things do not fall into this category. Although tech guru Mark Simmons is one of our guests, I would like to have general questions that all the guests can participate in. If you have technical questions, I guess you sign up for the forums at Gundam Wingatch. There is an entire forum devoted to "Gundam Engineering" with many different threads covering this technical issues. Thank you, and please keep sending in more questions.

A Few Announcements by Chris 9:30 P.M. EST I've got a few news items for today's update. First, I'm going to be introducing a new feature called "Robot Roundtable." The Roundtable will be a discussion by several anime webmasters on the subject of robots (naturally). The first one will of course be about Gundam and will feature the following special guests: Mark Simmons of Gundam Project/Gundam Official, David "VilePickle" Lohmeyer of Gundam Plus and Brian Shea of Gundam Encyclopedia. The questions will be a mix of my own and fan submissions, so here's your chance to ask these guys something. I will be accepting questions from now until next Friday. The discussion will be held via e-mail. Afterwards, I will edit all the questions and answers and post them here.
Please be sure that you put "Robot Roundtable" in the subject so that I can group all questions together. Similarly, any questions for the new Mailbag should also include "Mailbag" in the subject. As with the Mailbag, readers who send in good questions for the Roundtable will receive a Gmail invite. I'm going to be experimenting with Gmail for awhile, so from now on all e-mail for me should be sent to chrismahq@gmail.com unless otherwise noted.
In some other news, the long in development Quake 3 mod Gundam Universeseems to finally be nearing completion. Follow the link for the latest developments.

Don't trust CG idols by Chris 11:55 P.M. EST You'll probably be able to guess what today's update is. Yeah, there's newly re-written reviews for parts 3 and 4 of Macross Plus, along with the movie as well. And yes, there's new screenshots for all of these reviews as well. Also, I've posted this week's installment of the Mailbag.

Update Grab Bag by Chris 11:20 P.M. EST Going to get right to business today. First up are newly re-written reviews for parts 1 and 2 of Macross Plus, also featuring new screenshots that are also almost five years late.
Many of the mobile suits in the various DESTINY related sections now feature full specs and weapons listings, courtesy of spec guru Mark Simmons. Next up, there's a load of new lineart covering DESTINY, DESTINY ASTRAY and DESTINY-MSV.
Damn...well, that about does it. Keep those questions coming in for the Mailbag. Gmail invites go out to those who send in Mailbag questions (but be sure you send in a good question).

Macross II: A second look by Chris 9:00 P.M. EST Given that the Macross II reviews are some of the oldest on the site, I decided it was time to give them an overhaul. For today's second update, check out the newly re-written reviews for all 6 episodes of the series, along with new screenshots (yeah, it only took me close to five years to get the screenshots done, but better late than never).
Convention back log by Chris 1:55 A.M. EST It's time to clean out the convention backlog and report on three conventions that we attended in the last two years. First up, there's a full report for the infamous Kunicon/Otakucon/whatever con which took place in December 2004 on Miami Beach. Derrick wrote up the majority of the report, and I added a report on the Transformers panel and some closing comments. I also took all the pictures except for the last one, which is courtesy of Rising Sun.

Random Stuff by Chris 11:50 P.M. EST Got a few new things today. First up, there's the debut of the new Mailbag section. I liked the first round of questions that were sent in, so keep them coming. I'd like to make this a weekly feature if there's enough good questions. Next up, lineart:
Big Updates by Chris 6:36 P.M. EST There are a lot of updates today, so let's get right to them. First up, there's a review for episode 17 of DESTINY. Next up, the long-ignored G-UNIT section receives an update with reviews for volumes 2 and 3. Speaking of G-UNIT, the following profiles are now in Burke's Mobile Weapons format:
Red Frame Returns by Chris 11:30 P.M. EST For today's real content update, I have a review for TOKYOPOP's recent release of ASTRAY R volume 1.
Gmail, Part 3 by Chris 4:55 P.M. EST Still want to try out Gmail? HadjiQuest and Kira_Yamato from our IRC channel are willing to give out their extra invitations. To get an invitation, send an e-mail to hadjiquest@gmail.com or to joonkforever@gmail.com, and be sure to put "Gmail" in the subject.
Gmail Follow up by Chris 2:15 P.M. EST There seems to have been an overwhelming response to the Gmail giveaway. The 25 invites have been sent out, so as of this moment submissions are closed. Any e-mails I receive that are timestamped after this news post will not receive an invitation to Gmail. Thank you for your participation.

Gmail by Chris 11:05 A.M. EST Would you like to try out Google's Gmail? I have 50 invites, and because that's so many, I'm going to give away half of them. The first 25 people to e-mail me will receive an invitation. Just send me a blank e-mail with "Gmail" in the subject line.

Trains and space plants by Chris 5:15 P.M. EST I've got quite a few updates for today. First up, there's newly re-written reviews for episodes 5-8 of Gundam X. Next up, the profile for the Silverwindis now in Burke's Mobile Weapons format. Also, Mark064 sent in a review for episode 5 of Might Gaine. Finally, Patrick sent in a review for episode 8 of the long dormant Cowboy Bebop.
With the updates out of the way, it's time for an announcement. In order to keep the site's content fresh, I want to try out some new ideas. One of these is a "Mailbag" of sorts. I'd like people to send in questions regarding anything we cover on the site: be it a question about a series, a question on a review, or general comments/criticisms. I will then post these questions along with an answer. If this idea works out, I might turn it into a regular feature. So, start sending in the questions.

Speaking of models, I've decided it's about time to open up a section for Macross. The submission guidelines are the same, so start sending in reviews and a new section will debut shortly.

Return of the Model Reviews by Chris 3:25 P.M. EST It's been a very long time since I posted some model reviews, but now it's time to catch up on the backlog. Check out the following reviews:
Although the growth of our model section has been slow at times, I'm pleased to say that the review for the MSiA Gelgoog has the distinction of being our 100th posted model review. Keep 'em coming folks.
