Mega Fanfic by Lore 9:18 P.M. EST
Today I have a very special update. I have posted a fanfic by Newtype Alpha called The Legend of Megaroad. This is the single largest fanfic that has ever been posted on this site, and will likely remain that way until he writes the next installment.

Crimson Lightning by Chris 1:28 A.M. EST
In a special update, I'm proud to present something a bit different from what I usually do around here. RGZ-91 and a team including Shin Matsunaga, Psycho_Al and JenZee have translated & edited a short manga. It's called Gundam Pilot Biographies: Heroes of the Great Skies Part 1 - Johnny Ridden, and it can be found in our gallery as Gallery 11. Shin Matsunaga is also mirroring the manga on his site.

Update Grab Bag by Chris 11:37 P.M. EST
There's quite a few random updates today. First is a review for the first volume of the Gundam Wing side story G-UNIT. The mecha section for that series has been updated, as has some profiles for the Blue Destiny and Rise from the Ashes games. Machineman provided new pics for the following: Gundam Ver. Ka., SEED's Jupiter Exploration Ship and extra lineart for the Gundam Astray. Neo-Era also found lineart for the Justice Gundam. Before anyone asks or complains, yes it has a black bar over its head. I don't know why, so please don't ask.

Mecha Mecha by Chris 12:45 A.M. EST
I've got quite a few mecha items in this update, so let's get to them:

-Two new profiles in the Gundam SEED section for new Gundams that will soon be appearing on the TV series. Thanks go out to Neo-Era for finding a Japanese article on it and RGZ-91 for translating it. UPDATED: Thanks to Neo-Era, Terrance Wong and Lord Satorious for pointing me to a color picture of the Freedom Gundam as seen on the GML.
-Loads of new pics, profiles and specs for Gaia Gear. Thanks go out to Minovsky-Ionesco for the pics and RGZ-91 for translation of notes.
-A pic for the RX-178Q Gundam Mark II Quattro Bajeena Type from the Hobby Japan/Gundam Wingeapons series. Thanks go out to Tatanko for the pic.

Klingons and Booze by Chris 11:28 A.M. EST
It's been long-delayed for various reason, but you can finally see the combined report from the Vulkon convention Lore and I attended back in November. Also, there's lots of new Gundam SEED: Astray lineart courtesy of Minovsky-Ionesco. Also, Ryukami has submitted two new pictures for Gundam 0080's Rick Dom II. Previously, Burke had been using a picture from Gundam 0083's Rick Dom II.

Die Shrikes Die by Chris 8:06 P.M. EST
For today's update, check out reviews (with screenshots) for episodes 26-28 of Victory Gundam. Also, Machineman has created custom lineart for the three Gundams from the Gundam SEED: Astray manga sidestory.

Also, it was recently announced that a new TV series from Bandai called Superior Defender would be airing on Cartoon Network later this year. Neo-Era found this link which has pictures of these toys. So what is Superior Defender? Why, it's SD Gundam made specifically for America. Wing Zero never appears in any classic SD Gundam, therefore this is totally new. I will keep up to date with whatever news comes out about this weird new series.

Happy New Year by Chris 10:05 P.M. EST
Well, another year has ended, and another has begun. Looking back, 2002 was a very busy year for the site with hundreds of new mecha profiles and reviews. While there will be lots of updates in 2003, don't expect it to be as update-filled a year as 2002. For the most part, I've achieved more than I ever hoped I would with this site, so from now on I'm going to be taking it a bit easier. However, here's what you can expect to see during this year:

-Reviews for episodes 23-51 of Victory Gundam
-New sections to review Aura Battler Dunbine and Armored Trooper VOTOMS
-Current reviews for all episodes of Macross Zero and Gundam SEED
-More Gundam mobile suit and vehicle profiles

On another note, attentive readers may have noted Lore's mention of our new partnership with DVD Empire. We have chosen to affiliate with them because they have an extensive anime selection and some of the best prices online. You'll also notice that VHS selections are gone from the Lore Store. Times change, and the anime industry (and consumers) have left VHS behind, and so will MAHQ. If you plan on doing any shopping because of our reviews here, I highly recommend that you go with DVD Empire.
