Enter the Double X by Chris 12:25 P.M. EST
There's no surprise here, as today's update features new re-reviews for episodes 24-26 of Gundam X. Also, there's a few minor updates for SEED-MSV with some new blank profiles. Expect a lot of new pictures in the near future.

Of Schemers with Gundams by Chris 11:50 P.M. EST
Today's update is rather short. Not very surprisingly, it's a set of newly re-written reviews for episodes 21-23 of Gundam X. Expect more soon.

X Marks the Spot by Chris 11:55 P.M. EST
As expected, today's update again focuses mostly on Gundam X. First, there's newly re-written reviews for episodes 18-20. Second, many of the profiles in the mecha section have been updated. There's also some minor SEED updates today. There's a new profile for Astray B's Gelfinite, with lineart courtesy of Jess Yamato.

Beware Newtype Dolphins by Chris 11:58 P.M. EST
For today's update I'm digging into some older reviews and giving them a facelift. Check out newly re-written reviews for episodes 14-17 of Gundam X. Why start there? Well, the idea to re-write them didn't occur to me until recently watching episode 14, so that's where I started. I didn't go back to 1-13 because I just recently watched those episodes, but I'll get back to them later.

Double SEED Debut by Chris 2:17 P.M. EST
I've got a couple of new reviews today for the debut of the Gundam SEED manga section. First up is a review of volume 1 of Masatsugu Iwase's adaptation of the TV series. Next is a review for volume 1 of Koichi Tokita's Astray series. There's also some color corrected lineart of the Duel Gundam courtesy of I Jadewing I.

Minor Gundam Bits by Chris 11:50 P.M. EST
Today's updates are rather minor, but here we go. First, I've completed a full listing of mecha for the G Gundam manga adaptation. Next, there's some new SEED related lineart: the Regenerate Gundam, courtesy of Jess Yamato, and a custom GINN High Maneuver Type courtesy of I Jadewing I. More is on its way.

A Quickie by Chris 11:40 P.M. EST
Though I'm heading out tomorrow, I had to throw in a quick update. Recently, Neo-Era and RGZ-91 have been reporting on the rumored Zeta Gundam movies in their Gunota Headlines blog. Well, now the movie trilogy has been confirmed for 2005, with the first movie bearing the subtitle Inheritor of the Stars. As such, I've reworked the Zeta Gundam section to reflect this. On another note, Dale and Tanya will also be out of town this weekend, so please don't send any of us e-mail until we return.

One more before I run. On May 14, Anime Central 2004 kicks off in Illinois for three days. If you're attending on Friday night from 6-8 P.M., check out "The Gundam Experience", a panel hosted by James Sanjurjo. Here's a description from the program book:

"Gun...dam? What's that?" If you're new and looking for the answer to this question, or a long time fan and wish to beat those who have to ask (But seriously, no violence please) and have much deeper talks about the universe of Mobile Suit Gundam, this is the panel for you. Come and join us as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the world of Gundam. We'll be discussing the many different animation series, philosophies, technology, plastic model display, showing video clips, and even more! Whether you've just seen Wing, G, or SEED, or if you've seen everything from Turn A to Zeta Gundam... Come one, come all, to the ACEN Gundam Experience 2k4!

Sounds pretty interesting. Wish I could see it for myself. However, I will be running the mecha panel at YasumiCon 2004 in August, so be sure to check that out too.

Return of the Models by Chris 3:59 P.M. EST
It's been a few months since I've posted some model/toy reviews, but I've got a few right now. After today, I'll be heading out of town until Monday, so no updates this weekend. Check out the following:

MSiA GAT-X103 Buster Gundam
MSiA GAT-X105 Aile Strike Gundam w/Skygrasper

by Jameson Leaser:
HGUC 1/144 RX-77-2 Guncannon

by Winn Sevilla:
HGUC 1/144 MS-14Fs Gelgoog Marine Commander Type

by Sabersonic:

There's also some new pics for the MSiA Nu Gundam and HGUC Zeta Gundam.

An Update by Chris 11:15 P.M. EST
There's two items on the bill for today's update. First, Neo-Era has submitted a new comic in his ongoing series, The New Adventures of Tomino-sama. Second, RGZ-91 has compiled an exhaustive list of mecha and ships that appear in Koichi Tokita's Astray and X Astray manga, so have a look at the updated section. Finally, there's some new lineart for the 105 Dagger from SEED-MSV.

Aside from updates, I have some requests for lineart. Thanks to those who have sent in lineart already, but I'm looking for these things in particular too:

Duel Dagger
Long Dagger (better quality)
Any and all custom GINNS
GOOhN Underground Test Type (bigger lineart)
Dreadnaught Gundam
Gelfinite
Deep Forbidden (not to be confused with Forbidden Blue)
Gunbarrel parts
ReHOME

One thing I should note is that I'm looking for lineart scanned from magazines, not small pictures taken from the official SEED site. Thanks.

Insert Clever Zombie Movie Reference by Chris 11:53 P.M. EST
Here's a real surprise: a SEED update! First, as promised there's lineart for a few SEED-MSV profiles, most of which was cleaned up by Psycho Al. Credit for finding them goes out to Al, RGZ-91 and Adam Bullock. You can check out the following:

GAT-01A1 105 Dagger
GAT-X355 "Forbidden Blue" Gundam
ZGMF-1017 GINN High Mobility Type
Verune 35A/MPFM Multipurpose Flight Module

Here's some other stuff cleaned up by Dustin Wilkinson with some dabbling by Psycho Al:

MSA-0011 S Gundam
MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam

And more by Psycho Al:

Katoki's Turn A Gundam

Finally, I've created a mecha section covering the SEED manga, which is now available in the U.S. from Del Rey Books. I'll eventually review the first volume, but for now I'll post some brief thoughts. The translation and name usage seems quite solid and is very professional for a first release from a new manga publisher. The book also features character and mobile suit lineart, along with comments by artist Masatsugu Iwase. You'll also find a very brief Gundam history by none other than Mark Simmons, along with some preview pages of volume 2 in Japanese. All-in-all, I'd say it's a very good first effort from Del Rey. It'll be interesting to see how they fare in the competitive American manga market.

Day of the SEED by Chris 11:30 A.M. EST
There's a few more SEED updates in the pipeline today. Once again, the SEED-MSV section has been updated with new listings. I've also created new sections for Astray B and Astray R, the other 2/3 of the original Astray project. The listings are quite rudimentary for now, but they will be updated again soon. Thanks go out to Neo-Era for compiling the list. If anyone has lineart for SEED-MSV or Astray, I would greatly appreciate them sending it over to enhance these profiles. Finally, there's new lineart for the Char's Counterattack novel version Nightingale, courtesy of Psycho Al.

Now it's time for some other announcements. If you haven't seen the new version yet, I highly recommend visiting Gundam Official. Since it's run by former Gundam Project webmasters Mark Simmons and Keith Rhee, you can consider it to be in essence Gundam Project Mk. III.

And now it's time for some shameless plugging. Pretty soon, Anime Insider #14 will hit the stores, and inside you can find a brief article I wrote on Astray. Expect more articles of mine to appear there in the near future.
