Piano Squall declares war on Multiple Sclerosis with debut album
by Dale 9:58 P.M. EST
Under the stage name “Piano Squall,” Michael Gluck performs video game and anime music piano concerts to raise money for charity. Michael recently announced the launch of his debut album—GAME.
GAME features Michael’s original arrangement and performance of twenty-six theme songs from video games and anime, including Final Fantasy, Naruto, Super Mario World, Inuyasha, Chrono Trigger, Cowboy Bebop, Mega Man, Chrono Cross, Fullmetal Alchemist, Tetris and Evangelion. Highlights include Michael’s signature Final Fantasy Battle Medley, which blends nine Final Fantasy battle themes together into a single spectacular piece.
Michael and the video game publisher Electronic Arts will collaborate to donate an amount equal to 20% of all profits from GAME to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. But this is not the first time that Michael and his employer have joined forces for charity. In 2006, Michael and EA raised $8,600 for the National MS Society and $4,000 for Race for the Cure through selling “Piano Squall” posters at Michael’s concerts.
“I am always exploring new ways to combine my love of video game and anime music with my mission to fight Multiple Sclerosis, and I couldn’t be more excited about the launch of GAME,” said Michael. “I watched my grandmother waste away in a chair, completely paralyzed by MS for the last ten years of her life. We must cure this horrible disease as quickly as possible.”
GAME is currently available for pre-order at Michael’s website. The price is $9.99 with Free Shipping anywhere in the United States. Those who pre-order will receive a free Bonus Track that is not included on the CD. GAME ships 6/30/07.
Michael is a dear friend to the staff at MAHQ and anime fans alike. We are proud to offer our support to this worthy cause. We will be having a contest shortly to give you a chance to win autographed copies of the album!

Forum downtime by Chris 11:44 P.M. EST
Many of you have probably noticed that the forum is down. The domain was up for renewal yesterday, and although the renewal has been processed, it seems to have hit a snag and isn't pointing to the server. I don't know when it will be back online, though it will probably be some time tomorrow. Please don't send me e-mails asking when it will be online.
Moera Burns Up by Chris 3:57 P.M. EST
In anime, especially mecha anime, it's generally the kiss of death when a series suddenly switches focus to a character it doesn't usually focus on. Read on about that in Brian's reviews for episodes 31-33 of Ideon.

Peeling The Gunion by Chris 4:15 P.M. EST
After some extended delays, Ben returns with the new and improved version of The Gunion. Instead of a monthly PDF, the newspaper is going live with a website that will be regularly updated. All the content from the first two issues has been archived on the new site, along with new stories. Because The Gunion site will be run by Ben and updated regularly, we won't be mentioning each update here.
