The Final Frontier, First Part by Chris 4:10 P.M. EST
Well, Macross Frontier is officially over, although a movie version has been announced. The final reviews will be coming soon, but for now there's some updates to the mecha section. New lineart for the Macross Frontier and several variants of the VF-171EX comes courtesy of Graham from Macross World.

Random Updates by Chris 8:25 P.M. EST
Today's update is rather light and features a few miscellaneous items. First, Peter sent in new DVD screenshots for episodes 15-26 of Super Robot Wars. Along the same lines, I uploaded some new screenshots for all episodes of Macross Zero. Finally, there's some new Dragonar variations profiles for the Drago and courtesy of AmuroNT1, the Falguen Custom from ACE 3.

Chess with Mt Fuji by Chris 7:12 P.M. EST
Today's reviews for episodes 22-23 of Code Geass R2 bring everything up to date. Keeping with the Code Geass theme, there's also a review for picture drama 10. Also, there's some updates for the Frontier mecha section, with specs for the VF-25 series and VF-27 courtesy of the Macross Compendium. Since I hadn't mentioned it earlier, there's a few more episodes of Gundamn! available, so check them out. Also, I'm sure many visitors have noticed the long time lack of model kit/action figure reviews. They'll be returning soon, but in the meantime I have an article about Gundam 00 MSiA up at toy site TOMOPOP. I may write more there in the future, but for the moment it's just a one-off.

There's also some Macross mecha updates, with new lineart for the VF-1J Valkyrie (all modes in Hikaru, Max, Milia colors) as well as Basara's Custom Excalibur, courtesy of MrMarch.

The Ragnarok Whatever by Chris 11:39 P.M. EST
It took an extra day, but I've finally managed to catch up to Code Geass R2 with reviews for episodes 18-21. The next job will be catching up on Macross Frontier, so hopefully I can take care of that before the show ends.

Some News by Chris 11:54 P.M. EST
I had planned to update with some new reviews today and catch up on Code Geass, but that'll have to wait until at least tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll be using this space for some other stuff. By now, I'm sure most have heard that Gunota Headlines is closing up shop after five years. As longtime members of the MAHQ community, I'd like to congratulate Neo-Era and RGZ-91 for all the hard work they put in over the years. The world of Gundam fandom is certainly better off for all the work they did in delivering comprehensive and accurate Gundam news.

I've seen some people comment here and there that the closure of Gunota means they only have MAHQ to turn to for Gundam news. While I appreciate the sentiment, MAHQ is not and never has been a news site. Yes, we did occasionally have some stuff like announcing the license of DESTINY and the SEED Special Edition a few years ago, but we were never in the exact same business as Gunota. That said, for those who need their fix of Gundam news, there are some alternatives. Deacon Blues has started Gundam | News, and while the site has only been live two days, so far it's continuing in the tradition of Gunota. There's also SRW Hotnews, which mixes coverage of Gundam and Super Robot Wars.

It wouldn't surprise me if the closure of Gunota has prompted some speculation about MAHQ's future. In the eight years that I've been running this site, I've seen the closure of many great Gundam websites, including Gundam Project, The Mecha Domain, Newtype Asylum and Gundam.com. I think it's safe to say that at eight years old, MAHQ has lasted longer than the average fan site (especially one that hasn't turned commercial). Of course, MAHQ won't be running forever, but I think I have a few more years left in me to keep on going. But that means some things are going to be changing. Coming off of Gundam 00 and jumping right into Code Geass R2 and Macross Frontier has pretty much been killing me as far as updates go, and of course there's no break because 00 will be back next month. There's so much new stuff I can't get to because of these shows, but that'll be changing once they're done. Once 00 returns, that'll be pretty much the only thing I'll be publicly updating. For the rest of the time, I'll be working in the background on all the things I haven't been able to get to. The way things are now, updating the sections currently on the site while making new sections just isn't working.

I hope the preceding paragraph hasn't scared anyone. MAHQ isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but the way things work is going to change for a few months. With more things tugging at my attention, I just don't have as much free time as this site demands. That doesn't mean we'll stop delivering content, so it'll mostly be business as usual, with some tweaks.
