EA ISSUES WORLDWIDE APOLIGY

January, 2007.

The Earth Alliance today issued a general apology to the people of Earth and ZAFT in response to a recent accident that has resulted in the complete annihilation of Earth's Moon. The incident, which was a result of an accidental explosion within the EA's lunar based nuclear weapons storage facility, caused the Moon to explode and fragment into dozens of large asteroid like objects. Final transmissions from the facility seem to indicate that a small bouncing spherical object was responsible for starting a domino effect of destruction, spilling a hot cup of Joe onto the control system, resulting in a launch of over 500 nuclear cruise missiles, all with the doors closed. The last words heard from the facility security feed were "HARO, GENKI!"

The EA, who recently signed a second armistice with the ZAFT nations after a second brutal war replied in a written statement -

"To all of ZAFT. Sorry we blew up the Moon. It really sucks about you not having LaGrange points anymore. Wish we could help. Can we still be friends?"

While the large majority of ZAFT citizens had little to say (seeing as their colonies were now hurtling out into the depths of the solar system), those on the orbiting ZAFT space station Apocalypse decided to respond in the most direct way possible.
