Aside from the several prequels/sequels to the Gundam Wing TV series, there was also the original side story Gundam Wing Dual Story: G-UNIT. Serialized between 1997 and 1998 in Comic BomBom magazine, this side story was drawn by Koichi Tokita, who previously adapted the TV series as manga and illustrated Battlefield of Pacifists. As OZ makes its move to take over the space colonies in AC 195, researchers at the remote asteroid colony MO-V are secretly developing prototype Gundams known as the G-UNITs. Enter brash young pilot Odin Bernett and his older brother Odel, along with a host of other characters. Even as MO-V allies itself with OZ, an the elite OZ Prize unit tries to learn the secrets of the G-UNITs. The manga has been released in the U.S. by TOKYOPOP under the name Mobile Suit Gundam: The Last Outpost.
