Technical and Historical Notes
Along with the standard model Akatsuki, Black Knights engineer Rakshata Chawla designs a commander unit, dubbed the Jikisan Type, "Jikisan" being an old Japanese word for the direct subordinates of the Shogun. The Jikisan Type boasts performance surpassing the baseline Akatsuki, and carries stronger weapons, such as the Shiseiken's trademark chain-swords and a trio of radiation missiles mounted on the right forearm. One important feature of the Jikisan Type is a pair of radiation wave emitters mounted in the face, which allow it to generate a defensive barrier like the Type-02 Guren Mk-II. Several Akatsuki Jikisan Types are constructed; the standard model, painted dark blue, is used by team commanders including surviving Four Holy Swords members Shogo Asahina and Nagisa Chiba. One unit, painted pale pink, serves as the personal machine of Zero's accomplice and right-hand woman C.C.
