Technical and Historical Notes

As Drake Luft prepares to conquer Byston Well, Shot Weapon continues to develop newer, more powerful aura battlers. The prototype aura battler Bastole is completed just before Drake begins his rebellion against his liege lord King Furaon Elf of the Kingdom of Ah. The Bastole features a new aura amplifier designed by Shot, which allows native Byston Wellers to pilot aura battlers as well as Upper Earth people. The Bastole is armed with various weapons, including a sword, extendable cable talons, an auto cannon and a beam launcher. The prototype unit is given to Drake Army soldier Garalia Nyamhee during the battle to capture Elf Castle. During a battle with Shou Zama's Dunbine, a high amount of aura power is unleashed, which opens the Aura Road and transports both units to Tokyo, Japan on Upper Earth. Aura power is significantly stronger on Upper Earth, and the collateral damage caused by Garalia's initial attack kills more than 300,000 people. Garalia's Bastole is later destroyed while attempting to return to Byston Well with Shou. An upgraded version of the Bastole is later produced in limited numbers. This Bastole unit is commanded by Upper Earth engineer turned pilot Zet Light after the conflict moves to Upper Earth.
