Technical
and Historical Notes
|
The
alliance between the ambitious Drake Luft and Earth citizens
Shot Weapon and Zet Light yields many aura battlers, including the
prototype Dunbine ('guardian of House Luft' in Byston Well's language). The Dunbine's light weight increases its
speed, making it considerably faster than Drake's mass produced
Drumlo aura battler. The Dunbine's basic armament consists
of a sword, but it is also equipped with cable talons on
its hands and feet which can be used for grappling attacks
in battle. The Dunbine is also equipped with a 4-barrel auto cannon, mounted on the left arm. Because the aura
power on Upper Earth is greater than that of Byston Well, people
from Upper Earth are the best choices to pilot aura battlers. Only three Dunbine units are produced due to their aura power requirements. Drake uses the Ferario being Silkie Mau to open the
Aura Road and kidnap three people from Upper Earth: Japanese citizen
Shou Zama, Russian Tokamk Robskiy and American Todd Guinness.
Tokamk's unit is destroyed during his first sortie, and Todd's is damaged beyond repair and abandoned behind enemy lines. Shou serves as a willing pilot for Drake, though he has trouble
getting along with Todd and Bern Bunnings. After
encountering Upper Earth citizen Marvel Frozen and fighting
her aura battler Dana O'Shee, Shou
realizes that Drake is an evil man intent on conquering Byston
Well. Shou switches sides and joins the rebel ship Zelana,
commanded by the noble Nie Given. Shou's incredible aura powers
make the Dunbine a force to be feared, and his ever-increasing
skills seal his rivalries with Todd and Bern. During a fierce
battle with enemy pilot Garalia Nyamhee, the Aura Road accidentally
opens, dropping the both of them in Tokyo, Japan. As their
battle continues, Shou is shocked to discover that a single missile
from an aura battler has the power to kill tens of thousands on Upper Earth.
As Drake conquers more kingdoms across Byston Well, he develops
more aura battlers which prove to be quite a match for the
Dunbine. At the battle where the Kingdom of Lao is conquered,
Shou receives the new transforming Billbine
as a replacement for the damaged Dunbine. Afterwards, the Dunbine
is upgraded and passed on to Marvel. After the Ferarios move
the conflict to Upper Earth, the Dunbine remains in service as Marvel's
aura battler until it is destroyed in the final battle.
