Technical and Historical Notes

In 2308, Setsuna F. Seiei’s GN-001 Gundam Exia is heavily damaged while fighting Graham Aker’s SVMS-01X Union Flag Custom II. Cut off from the rest of Celestial Being, Setsuna conducts limited field repairs to the redesignated GN-001RE Gundam Exia Repair. The suit’s movement is restored, but Setsuna is unable to replace its missing left arm, so he covers the area with a large sheet. He’s also unable to replace the damaged right eye and instead scavenges one from an MSJ-06II-A Tieren. While the Gundam Exia Repair’s movements have been restored, most of its weapons have been lost, save for its damaged GN Sword. Setsuna reappears with his Gundam in 2312 to fight the oppressive A-LAWS outside the space colony Proud. The Gundam Exia Repair is further damaged during the battle, but afterward Setsuna is reunited with Celestial Being. Engineer Ian Vashti then fully restores and upgrades the suit into the GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II.
