Technical and Historical Notes

he Gundam Throne mobile suits piloted by the Trinity siblings are variations of the same basic design. Constructed in secret by Alejandro Corner, they are part of his plan to seize control of Celestial Being for himself. The Thrones are powered by GN Drive Taus, which are based on data gathered from Jupiter but lack the special core component of the original GN Drives. As a result, the GN Drive Taus cannot operate perpetually and must consume electricity to convert to GN particles. The drive's protruding block serves as its starter mechanism. Unlike the original GN Drives, the GN particles of the GN Drive Tau are toxic when used for beam weaponry or in some special states, and this is related to the particle compression rate used. To reduce weight, the Throne series' GN Drive Tau is incorporated into the suits' frame, and as such they have a different look from the other Gundams. In addition, they also do not use cords for transporting GN particles around the suit. Instead, the GN particles are capable of flowing through the suit's frame.

Nena Trinity's GNW-003 Gundam Throne Drei serves as Team Trinity's combat support unit. The Throne Drei's elongated head enhances its data processing ability, and a Haro robot is used to help Nena. The GN Beam Sabers are more destructive than other Gundams' sabers due to their larger size. A GN Shield Pod mounted on the right shoulder can store GN Missiles, additional GN Beam Sabers or other equipment for use by all three Throne units. The GN Shield can generate a layer of GN particles on its surface to increase its defensive capability and has limited sensor capability. A GN Handgun mounted underneath the right forearm can be enhanced by attaching the GN long rifle to it. The Throne Drei's GN stealth field consumes a large amount of GN particles, thus requiring that power output to weapons be lowered. The GN stealth field can jam radar and communication over a wide area, and the suit's ability to control so many released particles exceeds that of other Gundams.

The Gundam Thrones make their combat debut in 2308 when they rescue the original five Gundam Meisters from a trap sprung by the world's three superpower blocs. Afterward, the Trinity siblings engage in more brutal armed interventions, to the annoyance of the original Meisters. Eventually, the two Meister groups come into conflict until Corner seizes control of Celestial Being's quantum computer Veda. After Corner determines that the Trinitys have served their purpose, he sends his operative Ali al-Saachez to dispose of them. Posing as an ally, Ali kills Michael Trinity and seizes the GNW-002 Gundam Throne Zwei, which he then uses in combat to destroy Johann Trinity's GNW-001 Gundam Throne Eins. Nena manages to survive thanks to the arrival of Gundam Meister Setsuna F. Seiei and his GN-001 Gundam Exia. Nena spends the next four years operating as an agent of Wang Liu-Mei, and in 2312 she's killed in a fight against Louise Halevy's GNMA-0001V Regnant

as revenge for murdering Halevy's parents.
