Technical and Historical Notes

By 2307, the Union has started the process of replacing its aging mainstay mobile suit VMS-15 Union Realdo with the newer SVMS-01 Union Flag. The Realdo's flight mode allows the suit to transverse large distances at a high speed without geographical constraints. When used with an aircraft carrier, the suit can be deployed to different parts of the world easily. Such use of the machine is especially important for the United States, the core country of the Union, and the self-declared world police in their armed interventions. The the upper and lower body of the machine can separate. The upper body can be set to detonate as the lower body (with the drum cockpit) flies away.

The Advanced European Union uses the Realdo as a reference when designing the AEU-05/92 Hellion Initium. Despite being similar to the Hellion in design, the two machines should not be treated as the same due to differences in their performance and tactical doctrines. The performance of the suit's flight mode is above that of fighter jets, but the transformation requires part swapping in bases like the Hellion. The Realdo's armaments include a linear rifle, sonic blade and defense rod, but it can also store rockets in its chest/shoulders. Realdos produced in Japan are equipped with the Japanese version of defense rod and linear rifle developed by local companies. Some parts of the suit are made from heat resistant materials.
