Technical and Historical Notes

The development of anti-air mobile suits by the Human Reform League is only natural since its opponents, the AEU and Union, use flight-capable suits. The HRL's solution is the MSJ-06II-AC Tieren Antiaircraft Cannon Type, known by soldiers in the field at the Ciwei ("hedgehog" in Chinese). The suit is mainly used to guard HRL's military bases and the orbital elevator. The suit features a combined reconnaissance system that contains radar and various sensors for detecting enemy units in the air. It can also receive information collected by unmanned aerial mobile armors.

Four 155mm x 50 caliber rapid-fire anti-air cannons are the suit's main weapon. They are capable of firing 720 rounds per minute, or 12 rounds per second, and the muzzle velocity for each round can reach up to 1655 m/s (about Mach 5). In return for such performance, the cannons' barrels wear out quickly and as a result, spare barrels are mounted on the back skirt armor. The shells fired by the anti-air cannons can have regular warheads, self-guided warheads or anti-aircraft warheads, and each type can have different fuses such as delayed explosion, proximity, or point blank, demonstrating varied attack methods. The anti-air missile launchers are usually loaded with standard missiles, but since the appearance of the Gundams (which render radar and heat detection/seeking unless), they are loaded with wire-guided missiles. The 60mm 6-barrel liquid-cooled vulcan gun w/carbon blade can also be used against ground targets. It has a liquid-based cooling system for more effective cooling as the heat produced by the weapon during rapid fire is more intense than that of the standard 200mm x 25 caliber smoothbore gun.
