Technical and Historical Notes

The ovm-e Dorado is a mass production mobile suit that by AG 140 has replaced the ovv-f Gafran. The Dorado's design somewhat resembles the Gafran's, although it has dropped the dragon-like transformation ability. However, the Dorado includes as standard equipment the electromagnetic armor first used on the ovv-a Baqto that counters the Federation's DODS-based weapons. The Dorado presents a departure from Vagan design philosophy, which had mobile suits relying entirely on built-in weaponry. While the Dorado retains that style of armament, it can also equip optional vulcan guns on its forearms. The Vagans also produce a commander use variant, the ovm-el Dorado L. With the ability to operate on Earth and in space, the Dorado remains in regular use a quarter century after its introduction.
