Another variation on the EMS-06 Batara, the Diona was primarily intended as a demonstration mobile suit. The Diona's most distinctive feature was the fact that it was modeled in a feminine form, complete with a sculpted humanoid face. Despite the fact that its only weapon was a beam rifle, the Diona was actually on par with the EMS-07 Erebado in terms of performance. All the Dionas were piloted by young women who were purported to be Newtypes, but this seems to have just been propaganda. A group of Dionas served as the royal guard for Tetenith Dogatie, Crux Dogatie's daughter, when she engaged the Crossbone Vanguard forces in the EMA-06 Elegolea, but most of them were destroyed by Tobia Arronax's XM-X3 (F97) Crossbone Gundam X-3.
