Another variation on the EMS-06 Batara, the Diona is primarily intended as a demonstration mobile suit. The Diona's most distinctive feature is the fact that it's modeled in a feminine form, complete with a sculpted humanoid face. Despite the fact that its only weapon is a beam rifle, the Diona is actually on par with the EMS-07 Erebado in terms of performance. All the Dionas are piloted by young women who are purported to be Newtypes, but this seems to just be propaganda. A group of Dionas serves as the royal guard for Tetenith Dogatie, Crux Dogatie's daughter, when she engages the Crossbone Vanguard forces in the EMA-06 Elegolea, but most of them are destroyed by Tobia Arronax's XM-X3 Crossbone Gundam X-3.
